Travel questions

When should I book my flight?

4-6 months from the wedding date is normally ideal when booking a flight abroad. Check out Skyscanner to keep track of prices to Europe in June!

If I don’t already have a passport, how do I apply for one?

If you are applying for a first-time passport, you will need to apply in person. Search for a location near you here and book an appointment if necessary. Fill out your DS-11 form and bring it with you in person. You will also need to bring proof of citizenship. Here is a link that discusses the specific steps in more detail. Keep in mind that the process can take around 12 weeks. The sooner the better for this step!

what should I pack for the wedding?

Here is a sample packing list to use for your time at Casa Cornacchi. Please ask Bride or Groom if you have additional questions after reviewing the list.

Will my phone work in Europe?

You can have your phone work in Europe, but you will have additional costs. Talk to your provider and see if you have international travel plans.

Do I need trip insurance?

It is highly recommended that you get trip insurance. This prevents major investment losses if you need to cancel your trip or something happens overseas. Check out this comparison website, here.

Can I use US dollars in Europe?

Yes, but it is nice to have euros while on your trip. If you want cash, put in an order at your bank for the desired amount of euros. If you want to use your card, let your credit card company know you will be traveling and expect a low transaction fee.

How do I complete my ETIAS application?

When visiting Europe in 2025, travelers need to complete their ETIAS application before departing the US. This is an online application for visitors of 90 days or less that costs $7.75. Click here to complete and for more information!

day of wedding questions

Are there any dress codes throughout the week?

Yes. Rehearsal & Welcome Dinner is destination cocktail attire (collared shirt with slacks for guys). Wedding Ceremony & Reception is formal (with optional jackets for guys). Any other times do not require a dress code.

Here is a mood board with examples for the week.

What are the costs associated with attending the destination wedding?

Guests are responsible for their flight, transportation departing the Venue, and any additional travel outside of the stay at Casa Cornacchi. While on site, lodging is paid by the Bride and Groom, with breakfast and dinner included every day. Guests are responsible for Lunch (available on site) and any beverages or snacks outside of meal times.

Please note, upgrades are available per room (sheet changes, room service, early check in, etc) but those are responsibilities of the guest!
