Hannah and Andy met in December 2017, during their senior year of college at CU Boulder. After meeting through Bumble, they had their first date over margaritas at the Rio. They later realized their paths had overlapped many times during the earlier years of college- including to see Jane Goodall, Bernie Sanders, and Joe Biden speak. After graduating, they stayed in Boulder through the summer- hiking at Chautauqua, swimming at the Boulder Res, and biking together at the Thursday Night Bike Cruiser. Their love for each other solidified during a 10-day road trip through the Southwest. When they met, they thought their relationship would stay as a college fling, as Hannah had plans to move to Spain after graduation and Andy was planning to move back in with his parents while applying to medical school. However, feelings grew and plans changed- Hannah decided to move back to Denver after graduating, and they navigated the first year of post-grad together. In July 2019, the couple moved to Kirksville, Missouri for Andy to start med school. They adopted their first cat, Oliver, 2 days after moving to Missouri. Less than a year later, they found themselves weathering the covid lockdown together. Shortly after the pandemic began, their second cat, Luna, found her way into their lives (via a classmate’s porch). They spent a second year in Kirksville, and then moved to Tempe, Arizona for Andy’s clinical rotations. The summer of 2023 was a whirlwind! After Andy finished his last rotation of medical school, the couple went on another road trip, this time through Ireland and Scotland. While spending a few days on the magical Isle of Skye, Andy proposed to Hannah during a hike along the Fairy Pools. They had barely returned to Colorado before leaving again, driving to Missouri for Andy’s graduation. After a weekend of celebrating with friends and family, it was time to transition to the next chapter. Hannah and Andy returned to Arizona to pack up their apartment and finally make the move back to Colorado. Hannah, Andy, Ollie, and Luna moved to Fort Collins and immediately fell in love with it. Andy began his residency in Family Medicine, the final step in becoming a doctor. After 7 years together, they are looking forward to tying the knot and starting this next chapter of their lives together.

Q + A

If you are flying in for the wedding, you will want to arrive at Denver International Airport (DEN). The wedding will take place just southwest of Golden, which is approximately 45 minutes away from the airport by car (will take longer during rush hour traffic). There are plenty of Ubers/Lyfts as well as car rentals at the airport. Please note that beginning May 7th, REAL-ID compliant licenses are required to fly. If your state license does not have REAL-ID, you will need to bring your passport to travel.

Our wedding will take place outside of Golden, which is on the west side of the Denver Metro area. We will also be hosting a welcome reception the night before the wedding in Broomfield (northwest of Denver). We have decided not to do a hotel room block in order to allow guests to decide where makes the most sense for them to stay. There are many options for hotels, airbnbs, etc. in Golden and throughout the Denver Metro area. Downtown Denver is approximately 30 minutes from the venue. If you would like to stay close to the wedding venue, we recommend the following hotels, although these are not the only good options! Colorado in the summer is beautiful, and there are so many options if you'd like to spend some extra time here. We have a few suggestions below, located near the wedding venue in Golden or in Denver. Driving on I-70 West out of Golden will take you up to the mountains, with tons of hiking and cute towns to explore. Please feel free to reach out to Hannah or Andy if you'd like any additional recommendations.

Golden is a former gold rush town at the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. The downtown area is known for its locally owned boutiques, coffee shops, and breweries. Spend some time exploring Washington Ave and and the historic downtown area. The Clear Creek Trail offers a variety of hiking and biking trails, as well as kayaking and other water activities. Golden is also known as the home of Coors Brewery.

Scenic 2,413-acre mountain park just up the road from our wedding venue- with hiking trails, buffalo &amp; elk herds, and a picnic area. Sometimes you can see the buffalo from the I-70 overpass!

Beautiful gardens in the historic Cheesman Park neighborhood of Denver, between downtown and Cherry Creek.

Denver Botanic Gardens

The Molly Brown House was the home of Denver philanthropist and activist Molly Brown, who survived the sinking of the Titanic. The museum offers guided tours on the hour.
