Colorado in the summer is beautiful, and there are so many options if you'd like to spend some extra time here. We have a few suggestions below, located near the wedding venue in Golden or in Denver. Driving on I-70 West out of Golden will take you up to the mountains, with tons of hiking and cute towns to explore. Golden is a former gold rush town at the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. The downtown area is known for its locally owned boutiques, coffee shops, and breweries. Spend some time exploring Washington Ave and and the historic downtown area. The Clear Creek Trail offers a variety of hiking and biking trails, as well as kayaking and other water activities. Golden is also known as the home of Coors Brewery.
Scenic 2,413-acre mountain park just up the road from our wedding venue- with hiking trails, buffalo & elk herds, and a picnic area. Sometimes you can see the buffalo from the I-70 overpass!
