Napa Valley is 45 miles NE or about an hour and a half drive from our venue. You could easily make a weekend or day trip to see some famous wineries in Napa. There are several vendors through which you can purchase a van or trolley ticket and they will take you to a few wineries in the area. Napa tends to have the most expensive wineries compared to some of the other towns in Wine Country.
There is a cute market called Oxbow Public Market in the heart of Napa with local artisans and food. Gott's Roadside is a great casual burger/sandwich/taco shop with a location in Napa for a quick, cheap, casual lunch. Brix is a fancier restaurant nearby for a delicious lunch or brunch.
Sonoma is another option for winery tours - we think they are as high quality as Napa with a lower price point. It is 31 miles NE, or about a 1 hour drive from our venue.
Our favorite wineries are Kunde and St. Francis, which are about a 25-minute drive north of the heart of Sonoma. They happen to be a quick 5-minute drive between each other too.
Hopping from Napa to Sonoma is about a 45 minute - 1 hour drive, so if you plan to see both towns in 1 day it is helpful to make sure you are planning your route between wineries so you aren't going back and forth.
Healdsburg is yet another quaint town with many vineyards. It is a little farther north - about 60 miles or an hour and a half drive north of the venue. Healdsburg has an adorable town plaza with shopping and restaurants as well as options for wine tastings. They have a lot of highly-rated restaurants.
There are several small hotels in Healdsburg as well - might be worth staying the night there if you plan multiple days in wine country.
Stinson beach is a beautiful beach with a tiny town and multiple hikes and trails nearby - highly recommend if you want to hike and see some gorgeous views, or if you just want to enjoy the beach for a day. Getting to Stinson involves driving along some winding cliffs with amazing views of the coast.
There is no shortage of hiking/biking trails throughout Marin County, which is the county where our venue is located. Near your house or hotel there will likely be access to one of the many beautiful trails. For a more difficult hike or bike you can even try Mt. Tamalpais which is the highest peak.
Hook Fish Co is an amazing casual restaurant with fresh seafood, including amazing poke burritos and fish tacos. A very popular stop for weekend hikers and bikers.
If you want to do more touristy things around the city itself, you can cross the Golden Gate Bridge and take a ferry to Alcatraz - it's a pretty cool tour!
