Wedding FAQs
How and when should I RSVP?
Please RSVP by September 17th via this website. If we have not received your RSVP as we get closer, we will reach out to remind you; however, if we do not hear from you after that, we will assume you are not attending.
Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?
The wedding ceremony is planned to be outdoors, while the reception is booked inside. If weather prevents the outdoor ceremony, we will relocate to the indoor location.
What is the dress code for your wedding?
For the wedding, we are asking everybody to dress semi-formally. We know people generally like to wear brighter colors for tropical weddings, and we definitely welcome colorful attire!
Do I have a plus one?
Those who have plus ones have been notified via their invitation. If you are still unsure, you can look up your invitation on our website (via the RSVP page), you will see if a plus one has been added. If you do not have a plus one to the wedding but are planning to bring someone to the resort with you, they can still take part in all the resort has to offer when you are at the wedding. There is tons to do!
Am I allowed to bring my children?
Secrets Cap Cana is an adults-only resort and has a very strict policy that only those who are 18+ are allowed on premises. They do not make any exceptions for weddings.
What food will be at the wedding?
We have many guests who have dietary restrictions who are attending, and therefore, we will be having a buffet to accommodate everyone.
Will there be an open bar?
Absolutely.
Who is invited to the rehearsal dinner?
We would like to invite everyone to our rehearsal dinner! The rehearsal dinner is scheduled to be on the beach. Further details are to come!
What is the wedding day itinerary?
The wedding is planned to start at 5:00 PM with a cocktail hour and a reception. We will party until around 10:00. Afterward, we can partake in whatever resort entertainment that is offered as an afterparty.
Am I allowed to take photographs during the wedding?
Yes! We encourage you to take some pictures! Please drop them into our Wedding Google Drive under the "PHOTOS" tab on our website!
Can I post photos to social media?
Sure!
What is your wedding hashtag?
#JohnPuntaRingOnHannah
If your wedding is on the beach, what shoes do I wear?
We have a shoe check for the beach ceremony, so wear whatever shoes you would like to for the reception. Please remember, you are staying on the resort, so if you are unhappy with your shoe choice at anytime, nobody is stopping you from going to change.
What type of entertainment will be at the wedding?
We will have a DJ and dancing!
Will Hannah be changing her last name?
Not at this time, but who knows what the future holds!
What is the dress code for the rehearsal dinner?
Wear whatever makes you comfortable! We suggest dressing a step up from your casual clothing as we will be taking pictures. Keep in mind that if weather allows, the rehearsal dinner is planned to take place on the beach, so we suggest flat, open-toed footwear.
Punta Cana FAQs
What is the weather like in Punta Cana during late June/ early July?
Normally, the temperature will fluctuate between 75-90 degrees fahrenheit.
Can we drink the water?
We do not suggest drinking the tap water. Showering and washing your hands will be fine; however, when brushing your teeth or drinking, we suggest you use bottled water. They do provide this in your room.
What currency should we bring?
You may choose to convert some USA dollars to Dominican pesos before heading to the resort; however, the resort does have an ATM on premises, and accepts USD as well credit cards. Again, there will be very few purchases on the resort.
