The Coconut Key Lime Pie at Kermit’s is a delectable mix of two amazing pies. Sherry Edwards rates it 2 thumbs up. Their Key Lime ice cream and free cookie samples also make Kermit’s Key Lime Shop a winner.
Stop in at Blue Heaven for their Mile High Key Lime Pie and maybe some brunch. Sit outside with the chickens and order yourself a piece of pie topped with a nice pile of meringue. If you like meringue and tart flavors, Hannah and Adam give this pie infinite stars.
Have a major sweet tooth? Stop in a Matthesson’s Bakery for a piece of chocolate dipped key lime pie! Their pie is dipped in a thick layer of dark chocolate and served on a stick! 10/10. They also have amazing 1/2 pound cookies. Crumbl on crack. Try the peanut butter fudge!
These are the places we tried, but truth be told, there is no such thing as bad pie and there are several options to get your fix on the island!
How to Get Around the Island?
Well, there are multiple options!
Rent a golf cart directly from the hotel concierge. They are street legal and loads of fun to drive all around the island in. Parking may be a headache, but we definitely recommend to give it a try atleast once!
The Perry has a hotel shuttle that takes you to the marina downtown. Drops off and picks up on a schedule! A good option if you aren’t in a hurry. You’re on island time here!
There are a multitude of Ubers, taxi’s, and Lyfts. You need a ride? They are only a few minutes away!
You can also rent bikes and scooters from the hotel concierge!
Places to Eat?
The answer is.. so many.
Schooners Warfside Bar and Grill has an amazing atmosphere and great food!
The Boat House is a good option, as well. Happy hour from 4-6 daily!
Blue Heaven is a really popular spot! We had brunch here and had some tasty food.
All of the seafood on the island is fresh! You can’t go wrong!
