Perhaps the single most important thing you need to do (other than come to our wedding) while in Key West is walk around and look at the chickens. They won't be hard to find, as they often weave in and out of traffic and strut along city streets.
The Southernmost Point Buoy in Key West is an anchored concrete buoy marking the southernmost point in the continental United States, the lowest latitude land of contiguous North American states.
Ernest Hemingway owned this house in the 1930s. He also had cats. He was given a white six-toed cat by a ship’s captain and some of the cats who live on the museum grounds are descendants of that original cat, named Snow White. Key West is a small island and it is possible that many of the cats on the island are related.
Mallory Square is located in the heart of Key West. Every evening, hundreds of people gather here to watch the legendary Key West sunset. The Square becomes a hive of activity, as street performers, musicians, and food vendors gather to provide food and entertainment. It’s a very festive atmosphere and essential thing to do if it is your first time in Key West.
