WHERE TO STAY

We're sure we don't need to tell you that Cornwall is an incredibly popular holiday destination, so booking your accommodation as early as possible is vital. While we chose to have the wedding outside of school holidays to hopefully make it a little easier to find suitable accommodation, we still strongly recommend booking as soon as you are able.

Porthpean has very little accommodation in the village itself, with the exception of a small number of Airbnbs. We'd recommend you try to stay in Charlestown or St Austell if you can, as they are the towns closest to the venues.

However, there are a number of beautiful small villages and towns along the coastline that will have lovely accommodation if you are looking for somewhere to stay that has a bit of Cornish charm. Larger towns further inland (St Austell is very close to the venue, with Truro a little further but still accessible) will have a wider range of accommodation including budget offerings if you are just looking for somewhere to rest your head! There are also a number of campsites near to the venue for any outdoor adventurers among you.

PORTHPEAN

There's no hotel type accommodation in Porthpean itself, but there are a couple of two person AirBNBs if you get in there quickly!

CHARLESTOWN

Pier House

The venue for our welcome drinks, this is a pub with lovely rooms overlooking Charlestown harbour. This is about a 10 minute walk from the church.

Rashleigh Arms

This is a lovely pub with 18 rooms available. Serves good pub food and is a 5 min walk from Charlestown harbour. About a 5 minute walk from the Pier House (the venue for the welcome drinks), and a 10 minute walk from the church.

These are the only two hotels in Charlestown but there is tons of other holiday cottage type accommodation if you search AirBNB or Booking.com.

ST AUSTELL

The White Hart

A hotel in the centre of St Austell, seems to offer fairly standard lodgings at good prices.

Travelodge, St Austell

You know what you're getting with a Travelodge! This is probably the best value accommodation option - is in a good location for the train station and St Austell town centre (15 minute walk). A 6 minute drive or 40 minute walk from the church, and about similar to the Pier House (welcome drinks venue).

Premier Inn, St Austell

Great value but is not in the centre of St Austell so is probably better for those of you with cars or a willingness to get to know the taxi operators of St Austell very well! A 45 minute walk from St Austell train station.

The Cornwall Hotel & Spa

A luxury hotel in the countryside just outside of St Austell, offers rooms in a manor house and separate lodges with hot tubs. Think you can get good deals if you book early.

Again, lots of AirBNB or holiday cottage options too if you'd prefer!

MEVAGISSEY

A little further along the coast but we had to include it here because it is so gorgeous and has some really lovely accommodation options. Mevagissey is around a 15 minute drive to Porthpean and Charlestown. There's lots more accommodation options than this but just sharing a couple.

The Lugger

With 22 bedrooms and 3 private cottages, this was named the Best Seaside Hotel by the Sunday Times.

The Ship Inn

Traditional Cornish Inn with 5 bedrooms - tiny but very Cornish. Real ales and fish feature prominently on their food menu!

TRURO

Truro is about a 30 minute drive from Porthpean and Charlestown, so we'd recommend you try some of the other locations before looking here. But if you're slow off the mark and don't manage to find something closer, there's a wide range of accommodation options in Cornwall's only city!

Manning's

In the heart of Truro, a townhouse style hotel with car parking and breakfast included.

Barley Sheaf

One of Truro's oldest pubs, this pub offers pretty standard accommodation at a good price.
