While we will have a fairly solid Cornish contingent attending, we know that the majority of you will be coming from further afield. The St Austell area is easily accessible by car or train for those coming from the North (yes, London is 'the North' when you're in Cornwall!)

By Car:

For those coming by car from the North, you'll likely travel down the A30 before coming off at the sign to St Austell to join the A391. Google/Apple maps and sat navs should be able to find all the locations you need! From London the drive should take about 5 hours.

By Train:

St Austell has its own train station with direct services from London Paddington, Exeter and Plymouth. The route is operated by Great Western Railway and you can book tickets through the National Rail website. The journey will take about 4h30 from London.

By Air:

The nearest airport is Cornwall Airport Newquay, which is about 30 minutes drive from St Austell. You can get flights to Newquay from London, Manchester and other UK cities, as well as some European cities. It's a 1h20 minute flight from London to Newquay, and taxis and car hire are available at Newquay airport.

The Pier House is located in Charlestown, a 5 minute drive, or approx 35 minute walk from St Austell. There is a small car park available at the pub, and public parking available on the roads surrounding it, or in the public car park located at 6 Barkhouse Lane. The walk between St Austell and Charlestown is well lit and on pavement so walking between the two at night is an option.

If you would prefer to drive to the reception venue yourself, there is a good sized public car park a 2 minute walk from the venue. If you are driving from St Austell, drive to Porthpean house and continue along the road for 500m and you'll see it on the right. There are some pretty bad reviews for the private company that run this car park and the machine only takes coins, or requires you to use the JustPark app. Please keep your ticket after you've left just incase!

You'll need to arrange your own transport back to your accommodation after the reception. The same set of taxi firms will service Porthpean House as for the Welcome Party.
