Our Story

Our First Day: 07/07/2016

Our Yes Day: 10/25/2021

Our Best Day: 11/12/2022

John-Wesley and I met in the summer of 2016. I was going into my senior year of high school and had no intention of dating anyone. Little did I know, I would meet the sweetest most caring boy late June. We spent many nights at the pond near his mom's shop in Anderson. We fished, a lot (little did he know... I'm not much of a fisherman unless I'm in the ocean), sat around many bonfires with friends, and rode four wheelers until Stephanie, his mom, would call us in for supper.

John-Wesley met my family on the 4th of July that year. Seeing that he didn't run for the hills then... I knew he was someone I could get used to having around. Football season quickly arrived, and he got a real taste of my "crazy family". We've since spent many Saturdays with my parents and sisters on the back porch cheering for our favorite SEC teams. We have always had a house divided between Alabama and Auburn, but since JW joined the bunch... we now tune in to watch Tennessee, too. Football season is most definitely our favorite time of year!

January 5th, 2017 was a special day for both of us... John-Wesley rescued Bella, our 1st dog, and of course I fell in love immediately. Bella became a part of our story from that day forward and is most certainty the diva of the house!

May 23rd, 2018 was the day we brought Rellik ,our 2nd dog, into our home. He has since brought a lot of laughter and craziness into the house. It has always been a running joke that JW names the dogs and I will name the kids!

After graduating high school in 2017, I decided to start working for my dad at "the old Greenbrier shop." I am forever grateful for all life's lessons I have learned since taking that job. In the summer of 2018, John-Wesley started working at the shop and soon found a love for welding. I realized I had a love for office management and accounting. Foregoing the traditional route of college, we chose to learn on the job and seek education in small doses to enhance our chosen career paths. I still look back at the two kids who had no clue they were on a journey with many more adventures to come.

John-Wesley and I live in East Limestone with our rescue dogs, Bella & Rellik and our rescue cats, Sam & Shelby. We've spent the better half of the last 4 years remodeling our home, learning a lot about life and even more about each other. Our favorite pastime is having friends and family over to hang out and catch up on our back porch. We love a simple life and often thank God we are content with the "real things" in life. Most of all, we are thankful for our realization neither of us is perfect, but we accept the imperfections and lift one another up. We found each other when searching for ourselves. Unconditional love is rare but when found, the most beautiful and precious gift.

John-Wesley and I cannot thank you enough for being a part of our lives. You have watched, supported and helped mold us into the individuals and the couple you know today. My excitement grows for the day I will marry John-Wesley, November 12, 2022. I could never imagine my life without him or the village of people that surround us. We are blessed much more than we deserve, and we are thankful beyond words.

We look forward to seeing you all and sharing the best day of our lives thus far. May God bless and keep you safe as you travel to celebrate with us.
