Our Wedding

Our story began on September 9, 2019 when a job transfer brought one of us from Springdale Recreation to Buford Recreation - and into each other's lives. At the time, we had no idea that working together would be the beginning of something special. 
 
For over two years, we were teammates, coworkers, and friends. We spent countless days collaborating, joking around, and building a connection without even realizing it. Then, in October 2021 - just a week after we stopped working together - we finally saw what had been there all along. 
 
Fast forward to December 23, 2024: the easiest "yes" ever. That day, we got engaged and officially started planning forever. 
 
We can't wait to collaborate our next chapter with all the people who mean the most to us.

Jamie is the dad of the groom. Not many people can say their best man also taught them how to ride a bike, tie a tie, and face the world with strength and kindness - but the groom can. Jamie has been Tyler's role model, his biggest supporter, and the person he's always looked up to - long before this wedding. Through every stage of life, he's show Tyler what it means to lead with love, live with integrity, and show up when it matters most. Having him stand beside the groom, on this day, isn't just an honor. It's a full circle moment that the groom will never forget. "I'm excited to see Tyler marry the love of his life."

Jamie Johnson

Tamera has been the bride’s best friend for over 15 years—through every major life chapter, every laugh-until-you-cry moment, and every heart-to-heart in between. She knows Heather better than almost anyone and has walked beside her through the highest highs and the hardest lows with unwavering love and loyalty. No matter the season, Tamera has always been a steady, reassuring presence.

During the most difficult time in the bride's life, after the loss of her father, Tamera was rock solid. She stood by her with strength, compassion, and a kind of quiet understanding that only a lifelong best friend can offer. She showed up in every way that mattered—offering comfort, support, and a safe place to land when the world felt overwhelming. Her friendship was a true anchor during the storm.

Heather can’t imagine saying “I do” without Tamera standing right beside her (likely holding tissues and snacks). Having her as Maid of Honor is so much more than a title—it’s a celebration of a friendship that has grown, evolved, and remained unshakably strong over the years. Tamera Dawkins

As the older brother, Drew has had a front row seat to every stage of life. From scraped knees and awkward moments, to the incredible person he has helped Tyler be today - Drew's been the protector, the teaser, the occasional bad influence, and always the biggest supporter. While he's still contractually obligated to make at least one sarcastic comment, deep down he's beyond proud and honored to stand by Tyler's side on such a special day. "I'm looking forward to seeing two of my favorite people take the next step in their relationship and getting to celebrate them as they do."

Drew Johnson

Cherie is not just the groom's sister-in-law...she's become a true friend and someone the bride has grown incredibly close to over the years. Whether it's her kind heart, great sense of humor, or her calm, reassuring energy, Heather always feels lucky when she's around. It means so much to have her standing with the bride on the biggest day - not just because of who she is to the groom, but because of the relationship that Heather and Cherie have built themselves. The bride is so grateful to call her family. "I'm looking forward to watching both of you experience the happiest day! And partying on the dance floor!" 

Cherie Johnson 

Brantson is the best friend of the groom. Known for his legendary jokes, unmatched dance moves, and being the life of the party. "I'm excited about being able to bounce my a** on the dance floor."

Brantson Jordan

Veronica may have first been introduced as Brantson's date, but it didn't take long for her to become so much more than that. In the months leading up to the wedding, she and the bride built a friendship that felt easy, genuine, and meant to be. From shared laughs to meaningful conversations, Veronica quickly became someone the bride could lean on and trust. Having her stand by her side isn't just special- its a true reflection of the bond they've created along the way. "I can’t wait to share this special day with the bride and groom as they start their forever together!! Veronica Kirkley

As the groom's younger brother, Tanner has endured hand-me-downs, questionable advice, and being blamed for things he mostly didn't do. But through it all - he's been the ride-or-die, the chaos contributor, and now the proud sibling (yes, he has feelings apparently). Expect laughs, a little mischief, and maybe a few heartfelt moments - just don't tell him that he got emotional (he has a reputation to uphold).  "I'm excited about hitting the nastiest stanky leg or beer. Not sure which."

Tanner Johnson

Not just Tanner's girlfriend - Hannah is someone the bride is proud to call a true friend. She has such a genuine and warm spirit, and Heather is so thankful for the way she's embraced this big step in the couple's lives. Her kindness, laughter, and unwavering support have made such a difference in the bride's life, and she couldn't be more excited to have Hannah by her side on this special day. "I am looking forward to the bridal suite, alcohol, and seeing you two getting married... also - food."

Hannah Lear

From playing video games, to backyard wrestling matches - Ronnie has been in the groom's corner from day one. He's the cousin who shows up, turns up, and somehow has the most ridiculous story to tell whether anyone asked for it or not. He's taking his groomsman duties seriously: looking sharp, hyping up the dance floor and making sure the groom doesn't do anything too dumb. Just don't be surprised - if he ends up in half the wedding photos and remembers none of them."I'm ready for the wedding to see my brother marry his best friend."

Ronnie Reed III

Emma is not only a cherished friend, but also the bride’s go-to hairdresser for both everyday life and this very special day. From routine trims and big life-event styling to wedding planning touch-ups and trials, Emma has been there through it all—making sure the bride feels beautiful, confident, and completely herself. There’s a special kind of trust that comes with letting someone handle your hair, and with Emma, that trust has always been effortless. Having Emma stand beside us on this day means more than we can fully put into words. She represents friendship, resilience, beauty inside and out, and the reminder that even in loss, love surrounds us. We are so grateful for her heart, her talent, and the light she continues to bring into our lives. "Im so excited for her. My best friend gets married to the love her life! There are few people in life who leave a lasting impact simply by being who they are, and the groom's Uncle David is one of them. He's been a constant presence, a quiet guide, and a steady source of love, laughter, and wisdom throughout the years. Choosing him to officiate our wedding wasn't just an easy decision - it was the most meaningful one. His words carry the depth of someone who truly knows us, who's seen our story unfold, and who will now help us begin the next chapter. It's an honor to have him lead the moment we say 'I do'.
