Our Wedding

Heather stumbled upon Mike swiping through many other not-so-promising bachelors on the dating app, Hinge, in April 2023. At the time of matching, she didn’t realize she had actually met and known Mike for nearly 10 years until he asked her how Max &amp; Caitlin were doing (Heather’s brother and sister-in-law). Once she realized the connection, she immediately texted Caitlin to get her honest and unfiltered opinion on Mike. Luckily, Caitlin gave her stamp of approval (which can be hard to come by sometimes, so that was a major green flag for Heather). After messaging on the app and texting for about a month, followed by one cancelled date, Heather &amp; Mike finally reconnected in person on their first date at Crabby Bill’s in Indian Rocks Beach. Little did Heather know that she would be sitting in that same seat a little less than a year later right before Mike got down on one knee. They hit if off immediately and planned dates throughout the following week at Slyce and Frenchy’s. On their fourth date, Heather challenged Mike to a friendly, yet competitive, game of mini golf on the beach. On the 15th hole, Heather made a sneaky bet with Mike…if she sunk the hole in one, he owed her a kiss. Mike agreed, but Heather’s putting skills needed some work and she barely missed the hole. Lucky for Heather, Mike said she was close enough and pulled her in for their first kiss. July 4, 2023 was a big day for Heather &amp; Mike. Heather introduced Mike to her parents that morning while they were anchored at Caladesi Island…along with (unexpectedly) 30+ more of the Henderson’s friends. Heather then proceeded to meet Mike’s entire family that afternoon. They ended the night watching fireworks together and knew then that they had something special. When they first met, Mike was in the process of finding a home to purchase in the same area Heather was living. As fate would have it, Mike was about to go under contract on a home he found on Lois Lane…just 5 houses down from Heather’s. They both agreed they were comfortable if things didn’t pan out, but both had a good feeling that that wouldn’t be the case. Mike joked that Heather would have to be the one to pass by his house on the way off the street every day if it didn’t work out, but luckily, they never had to worry about that. Most of their following dates involved shrimp, sushi, Reef Donkey’s, the beach, sunset walks and boating. From Mike meeting Heather’s childhood friends and family and being included on the annual Key West trip, to Heather going to NOLA, Crystal River and Marco Island to meet some of Mike’s closest friends, they quickly became integrated in each other's lives. It was very clear to Mike &amp; Heather (and everyone around them) that this was the real deal. After almost a year of dating, Mike asked Heather’s parents for permission and got down on one knee during a sunset walk on Belleair Beach, where they had had so many sunset walks before. Kraut, Heather’s Great Dane, is so excited to officially call Mike his dog Dad! Along with planning the wedding, they are currently in the process of renovating Mike’s house, where they will live together. They are so excited to celebrate with everyone at, and leading up to, the wedding &amp; are looking forward to a long life of love &amp; happiness together!

Room reservations with the room block must be made online. To make reservation, go to Opal Sands' website, select BOOK NOW then select “Code Type.” Select “PROMOTIONAL CODE” and enter “SOCIAL2025”. In order to make a reservation, guests will give a credit card to guarantee the reservation with the full stay room, tax &amp; resort fee charged 7 days prior to arrival. Guests have until 7 days prior to arrival to cancel their reservation without being charged for the full cancellation. We would encourage you to book early as rates and restrictions will tighten as we approach our wedding weekend.

Hampton Inn &amp; Suites is a 7 minute walk from Opal Sands. They are offering a room block for us for $259.00 + 13% tax per night. Complimentary breakfast is included, and resort fee &amp; parking fee are waived. To make a reservation, please reach out to Juli Norberg directly at Juli.Norberg@hilton.com . Mention Henderson/Wilson Wedding Block. Reservations for Hampton Inn &amp; Suites must be booked by March 21, 2025 and a two-night minimum is required to receive the above discounted rate.

Looking for a fun time out on the water? The Calypso Queen is available for a 7:00pm dinner cruise on Friday or a 12:30pm afternoon cruise on Saturday.
