The Beginning Stages

We met each other in Animal Science class in 2005, when Heather was a junior and Chris was a sophomore. Although we didn't date in high school, we were still friends. We officially started dating on 11.08.06. We hung out every time we could, playing softball in the backyard with my sister. Heather and Chris went to prom together for Chris (2nd) senior year in 2008. In 2010 we were together when his 1st born nephew Brayton was born. We continued to make memories and go on adventures together, all while I was attending college and both of us working full time. We were together until 2011 when we went our separate ways for a while. In 2012 we continued to be friends and soon got back together with each other. We had many ups and downs in our relationships but always seemed to find a way to make things work and end up back together.

On and Off

Our relationship was on and off again early on in our relationship, we were still young and wanted to enjoy our life. In 2012 shortly after we got back together, Bayleigh was born, Chris (1st) niece. He was there for me and my family when we went through the passing of my Grandpa Kelsey in May 2012. A couple of years went by and in 2015 Chris graduated from New York State Corrections, we remained friends through this time even though we were not together as a couple. Around came 2016, when Bennett was born (Chris' 2nd nephew, and although we weren't together, I was still a part of his family's life. In 2017 after Ben 's accident we got back together, and Chris raced his 1st full season of racing at Evans Mills Speedway. We both participated in our 1st golf tournament in memory of my Grandpa Kelsey and went on our first camping trip together with friends. In 2018 Chris moved to Theresa with Heather to live. In 2019 we were both apart of Taylore (Heather's sister) wedding in Oct 2019 and went on a couple snowmobile trips together with family and friends. In Jan of 2020 when the rest of the world started to change, Chris and I always changed our relationship, and we went our separate ways.

Making Her a Malbeuf

On July 9, 2021, Heather was at work when she received a text message from Chris, asking what she had been up to and if she wanted to hang out sometime soon. We started hanging out more, Chris bought another race car and decided he was going to start racing again. On September 18, 2021 Chris won his 1st every legend car race in the John Burr Classic at Evans Mills Speedway, I was so happy that I got to be apart of this special moment. We continued to hang out and be with each other any chance we got. In December of 2021, we were at Christmas when Chris got to be a part of my sister's announcement of being pregnant. Fast Forward a couple weeks, it all changed on January 2, 2022 when I was in the Alex Bay ER for a (NSTEMI) heart attack. Chris was headed back to work when I called him with the news, he knew at that moment that we belonged together. We continued to make memories together, go on adventures together, we went on our first road trip together to NC for a weekend. We completed 2 more race seasons in which Chris won (2) championships.

Fast forward to November of 2024, while Chris was sitting in the woods he reached out to Taylore (my sister) and asked for help in finding a ring for Heather. Chris and Taylore worked together to find a ring. Taylore kept the ring at her house hidden in her closet for (2) months. On January 21, 2024, Chris, Heather, Taylore and Kelsey decided to take Kelsey snowmobiling for the first time. We all went snowmobiling, and when we got back we were all standing around just talking and playing with Kelsey, when Chris tapped Heather on the shoulder and when she turned around he was down on one knee, asking Heather to marry him. Heather said yes, put the ring on and jumped up and down. Her family was a part of her proposal just like she told Chris to make sure happen.
