380 Days To Go!

Welcome to Door County! Whether you're here for a few days before or after our wedding, there are plenty of activities to make your stay memorable. Here are some of our favorite things to do:

1. Relax at the Beach

Spend a day lounging on one of Door County’s beautiful beaches. We recommend the sandy shores of Whitefish Dunes State Park for a serene experience or Sister Bay Beach for its lively atmosphere.

2. Explore State Parks

Peninsula State Park offers breathtaking views and excellent hiking trails. Don’t miss the Eagle Trail for a bit of a challenge and the stunning vista from Eagle Tower. Newport State Park is another gem, perfect for a peaceful hike.

3. Visit Cave Point County Park

This is one of our absolute favorite spots. The dramatic limestone cliffs and the powerful crashing waves of Lake Michigan are mesmerizing. It's a great place for a picnic and some stunning photography.

4. Go Cherry Picking

Door County is famous for its cherry orchards. Take a trip to one of the local farms and enjoy picking fresh, juicy cherries. It's a fun activity for all ages, and the cherries make for a delicious snack or pie!

5. Tour the Lighthouses

We love exploring the historic lighthouses scattered across Door County. Cana Island Lighthouse, with its picturesque beauty and panoramic views from the top, is a must-visit. Also, check out the Eagle Bluff Lighthouse for a peek into maritime history.

6. Scenic Boat Tour

Seeing Door County from the water offers a unique perspective. There are various boat tours available, from sightseeing cruises to sunset sails. Heather and George often book a tour for visiting family and friends, and it’s always a hit.

7. Kayak Tour

For the more adventurous, a kayak tour is a fantastic way to explore the shoreline and hidden coves of Door County. Heather and George love the guided tours that take you through sea caves and along rugged cliffs. It’s an experience that combines exercise with stunning scenery.

8. Indulge in Local Cuisine

No visit to Door County is complete without sampling the local cuisine. Heather and George recommend trying a traditional fish boil – a Door County specialty. There are also plenty of charming cafes and restaurants offering everything from fresh seafood to artisanal pizzas.

We hope you enjoy these activities as much as we do. Have a fantastic time in Door County!
