If you're able to, we strongly recommend coming to Puerto Rico for longer than just the weekend. PR has a ton of things to see and do (and not just in San Juan). More information on recommendations will be made available in the "Things to Do" tab.
Travel information for the wedding weekend is below:
You'll find the most flight options from the US are to San Juan's Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport (SJU). San Juan's airport has rental cars available from all the major rental car brands and is an approximately 2.5 hour drive to the Rincón area.
You are welcome to fly to other airports in PR, but you may find it difficult to find conveniently timed options for commercial flight connections to/from the mainland US or an abundance of rental car availability. Two other options to consider are Aguadilla (BQN) and Ponce (PSE) with Aguadilla being the closest to the Rincón area.
For our DC-area friends, we find that January flights to San Juan go on sale around September/October timeframe. There's a daily direct flight from DCA-SJU on JetBlue.
One more note about when you leave (flying from PR to the US): you must have your bags (both checked luggage and carry-ons) scanned by the US Department of Agriculture (USDA), Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS). USDA/APHIS scanning stations are easy to find and there are plenty of signs directing you to them. Do this *before* waiting in line to check your bag and before security. They will turn you away if your bags don't have the appropriate sticker.
You will need a rental car. SJU Airport has all the major rental companies. Rental cars in Puerto Rico can be a bit pricey, so make sure you don't wait to the last minute to make your reservation. If reserving a car through a third party site like Hotwire or Costco Travel, make sure a few days ahead of time the specific rental car company has record of your reservation.
Most major highways have tolls. The use of PR's version of E-ZPass, called AutoExpreso, is mandatory. You should anticipate an additional bill a few weeks after returning your car for the tolls.
For those unfamiliar: driving in PR is a unique experience. Some roads are in great condition, and others are in bad shape. Sometimes you'll even encounter a bad pothole in the middle of a highway. Road signs are in Spanish, distances are in kilometers, and speed limits are in miles per hour. Gas station prices are per liter (almost 4 liters per gallon) and you'll need to pre-pay for gas in the shop (not at the pump) before filling up.
We've secured a room block at Rincón Beach Resort Friday night and Saturday night for guests. You're more than welcome to stay elsewhere, but we recommend staying at the venue so you don't have to worry about drinking and driving. Public transportation is not available in the town where the wedding is taking place.
The deadline to reserve your room at the discounted prices is October 31, 2025. After that date, there's no guarantee the venue will have space.
To reserve a room in the block, you must call 787-589-9026 during regular business hours (Mon-Fri). Ask for Sasha Torres and ask to reserve a room in the block for "Héctor and Daniel."
You are also welcome to stay either before Friday or after Sunday if you'd like more time at the venue using the room block discount. Simply let Sasha know when making your reservation.

* Superior - normal hotel room ($461.10)
* Deluxe - normal hotel room with balcony ($510.30)
