Our Wedding

A modern love story

When classic love stories are launched by word of mouth, the classic “A friend of a friend”, ours, finds its charm in the randomness of software algorithms. Dating apps specifically, Hinge, was our cupid. Patience, depth and luck are the concepts that describe our early interactions. Texts turned into calls, calls into video calls, and later an in-person date. Sparks turned into a flame that lit the union between two people and two cultures. Friendly, polite, and outdoorsy Mid-western mixed with warm, musical, and spicy Caribbean. The story continues with curiosity, openness and love. Dating outside of your culture could be intimidating but amazingly rewarding, as we discovered in the first year. With curiosity we learn from each other. At the same time we opened our hearts and minds and constructed a solid base for our relationship. Ups and downs strengthen our love union and launch it to places we only dreamed of. With each year that passed we grew individually and as a couple. Daily challenges, work changes, traveling and other life transitions have taught us to work together. Witnessing how well we do as a couple, only proves the commitment and passion we have towards each other. An engagement with history as backdrop in Prague, Czechia, staged the beginning of our next chapter. We knew we were ready to frame our love with wedding bells and rings. But, how to tell a love story that’s still unfolding as we speak? Why tell when you are going to be part of it? Celebrate our love, witness and be part of our love story.

Una historia de amor moderna

Cuando las historias de amor clásicas se transmiten de boca en boca, la clásica "Un amigo de un amigo", la nuestra, encuentra su encanto en la aleatoriedad de los algoritmos de un software. Las apps de citas, específicamente Hinge, fue nuestro Cupido. Paciencia, profundidad y suerte son los conceptos que describen nuestras primeras interacciones. Los mensajes se convirtieron en llamadas, las llamadas en videollamadas y, más tarde, en una cita en persona. Las chispas se convirtieron en una llama que encendió la unión entre dos personas y dos culturas. El ambiente amable, educado y natural del Medio Oeste se mezcla con el cálido, musical y picante Caribe. La historia continúa con curiosidad, apertura y amor. Salir con alguien fuera de tu cultura puede ser intimidante, pero increíblemente gratificante, como descubrimos durante el primer año. Con curiosidad, aprendemos el uno del otro. Al mismo tiempo, abrimos nuestros corazones y mentes y construimos una base sólida para nuestra relación. Los altibajos fortalecen nuestra unión amorosa y la catapultan a lugares que solo soñábamos. Con cada año que transcurría, crecíamos individualmente y como pareja. Los desafíos diarios, los cambios laborales, los viajes y otras transiciones de la vida nos han enseñado a trabajar juntos. Ser testigo de lo bien que nos va como pareja demuestra el compromiso y la pasión que sentimos el uno por el otro. Un compromiso con la historia como telón de fondo en Praga, Chequia, marcó el comienzo de nuestro siguiente capítulo. Sabíamos que estábamos listos para enmarcar nuestro amor con campanas y anillos de boda. Pero, ¿cómo contar una historia de amor que aún se está desarrollando? ¿Para qué contarla cuando vas a ser parte de ella? Celebra nuestro amor, sé testigo y sé parte de nuestra historia.

Located one hour from San Juan- the only tropical rainforest that is part of the U.S. National Forest System. 28,000 acres and is home to more than 240 types of trees, birds, and native species like the coquí frog. The forest includes several waterfalls and ancient petroglyphs depicting the deities of the Taíno, Puerto Rico’s indigenous people.
