I Do, Take Two BBQ

COVID 19

We understand that with the current pandemic, it is a scary and unpredictable situation and we don’t want anyone to feel uncomfortable in any way. We understand that people have different comfort levels and different beliefs in regards to Covid 19. We hope that we can all respect everyone’s choices and decisions during this time. Currently, our venue does not require anyone to wear masks but we encourage you to wear masks if that makes you comfortable. We want everyone to stay happy and healthy. All of our activities are outside to make sure social distancing is capable and masks and hand sanitizer will also be provided if needed. We are not providing dancing either to help with social distancing. We want to ensure you we are trying to do this event safely. If you still choose not to attend, just know we understand and we will miss you. We will be trying to do a live facebook event as well.

We chose to have an informal celebration to try to maximize the time spent with all of our guests. We hated the idea of only seeing people for 45 minutes so we decided to have multiple intimate events to socialize, catch up, and celebrate. We understand that our wedding day will be a long one for some guests. Please understand that for the BBQ, you can attend at your leisure. If you would like to take a nap, change, relax, and come to the BBQ later, please feel free to do just that. Please, do not feel obligated to attend if it is too much. We understand. Please RSVP for each event you plan to attend so we can make sure you are counted for food and desert. Cant wait to celebrate with you!

Our Wedding

Our journey together began in January 2009 in Killeen Texas. Little did we know that the song Footloose would be the spark that started our journey together. Six months later, we packed up and started a 4,500 mile adventure to Alaska.  While in Alaska, we decided to marry on December 18, 2010. Circumstances being what they were, we had our wedding at the Princess Lodge in Fairbanks at a glorious 44 below zero with only local friends attending. Although, it wasn’t our dream wedding, we knew we wanted to spend forever together and made the best of what we could. Ten years later, here we are celebrating again, this time with family and friends.  In these past ten years, we moved from Alaska to Washington and here to Lake Havasu.  We have two beautiful and wild children, Abigail (7) and Lincoln (5) along with a crazy dog, Kona. Adventure has been an important piece to our relationship and our family. Throughout the years, our favorite memories have been made by hiking, traveling, exploring, and having fun as a family.

Our Story

The closest airport to Lake Havasu is McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas, NV which is approximately 120 miles to the north. If flying, a rental car is needed from Las Vegas to Lake Havasu. If driving, google maps is your friend!

Travel

The biggest attraction in Lake Havasu City is of course, the Lake. Plenty of places to sit and swim without a boat! From the white sand on the London Bridge beach along the far western end of the channel to the Island beaches and even Rotary park, there are plenty of places to enjoy the water.   On the island is a walking path or a biking path that is approximately 3.5 miles long in a loop. Offering different views of both the lake and the city.  For the golfers out there, the courses are The Refuge located a few miles north west of the city and two courses within the city called Lake Havasu Golf Club. Undoubtedly The Refuge is a better course and golf in mid spring is a prime activity.   Hiking and walking in Sara park is always a fun way to spend the day. Sara park is home to the “crack in the mountain”, an impressive slot canyon right in town. You can also walk the original London Bridge or walk the Lake Havasu Channel to get memorable views of the lake from the English Village.    Mid April is one of the most pleasant times to visit Havasu, with warmer temperatures compared to most places, it is still much cooler than it is in August!

Things to Do

Abigail is our first born who is a fun loving, strong, intelligent, seven year old. She has a passion for animals (especially red pandas) and loves to draw. She loves school is currently a straight A student.

Lincoln is an adventurous and curious child who has a creative mind to play and creates opportunity around him. He is 5 years old and is excelling in kindergarten.
