Josh and I met in high school chemistry class. He was a sophmore and I was a junior at the time. At this point we were mere acquaintances. We had a few brief, friendly interactions. Fast-forward, I graduated and returned to campus the following school year as an assistant cross country coach. We parked our cars near each other and would see eachother from time to time on campus having more frequent friendly interactions. Josh found me on Facebook and messaged me, inviting me to go to the beach with his friends. Over the course of the next several months, there would be fewer and fewer friends hanging out with us until eventually we were all alone on a Friday evening watching a movie with Chinese food. At this point, Josh was gifting me bouquets with alarming frequency. I thought to myself, he must have no idea how long flowers live because I still have the last 3 bunches he gave me. Aside from the point, I fell for it and I fell for him. Josh told me he felt he loved me since chemistry class.
Chapter Two. We are now confessing our love to eachother in Spring of Josh's Senior year of high school. He is simultaneously making arrangements to attend college in Rhode Island in the fall. I was already making arrangements to attend nursing school in California. So, we do what any naive 17 and 18 year olds do and decide to do long distance on opposite coasts. Josh promised we would be together when it was over. Turns out he was right. We spent the next four years, texting every day, calling many nights, and taking every possible flight to see eachother. We spent the time in between our visits dreaming about the life we wanted to have together. We both finished school and Josh moved back to San Diego.
We each have accomplished some very big individual goals with eachother's support. Our biggest goal by far, has been to get married. We are so excited to for you all to witness one of our long-held, hard-fought dreams come true.
