Fly into this airport if making this a short trip (FCA are the call letters). Rental Cars are available from this airport, but shuttles are available to and from 3 of the 4 hotels recommended where we have room blocks). I recommend researching flights through Kayak to FCA before booking and try booking two one way tickets so you can see your options best. It is common to depart from east coast or central at 6am or to arrive in Glacier at midnight and transportation is organized accordingly.
If you want to have a beautiful 2.5-3 hr drive along the flathead lake to whitefish, then you may consider flying to Missoula (MSO airport call letters). You may also find this airport to offer direct flights from DFW and other locations, as well as less expensive flights. If you choose this option, please set your GPS to Montana Connie’s Countryside Cafe - Heidys favorite place to stop for home cooking, a view of the amazing glacier mountain bowl, Indian reservation experience, meeting Connie and local members of the tribe ... but, this also sets you towards the most beautiful side / view of the flathead lake and takes you through a local Indian reservation. .... But, please consider that you will forfeit shuttles to and from airport to your hotel of course with this option. Also, please be comfortable with driving in the snow if you choose this option.
We do not have a room block; but, Expedia and their website has rooms available in Main Lodge, Viking lodge and condos. Also, Heidy has a few rooms held for $220 if you contact her directly (first come first serve :)... Shuttle provided to and from Airport and to and from Whitefish Mountain Ski Resort.
We plan to eat here on Thursday night whomever would like to join. Please book a dinner reservation here on 1/26/23 for 5 or 530pm on Thursday evening. There are condos and other rooms available directly from their website and through Expedia, etc.
Please ask for McWhorter/Mongeon Room block RATE. Since we are less than 60 days out, there are 50 rooms left but not under a room block. They will honor the room block rate though when you ask for it for anytime within the 1/26-1/30 date range. Please call to book through central reservations to receive room rates of $99 to $200 depending on the room type selected. This lodge offers shuttles from Glacier Park/Kalispell/FCA Airport when you provide your flight details 48 hours in advance (they will even pick you up at midnight)
Room Block is listed under McWhorter/Mongeon or Early McWhorter for rates starting at $150. This hotel is downtown Whitefish where you can walk around downtown on your back doorstep. Shuttle runs to and from the sister hotel The Lodge at Whitefish Lake and if you provide 48 hour notice they provide airport shuttles as well.
Please ask for Room Block under Early McWhorter for rates. This is a adorable cabin style boutique hotel bed and breakfast. This is walking distance from the Lodge at Whitefish Lake and close to the ski resort (but no shuttles except a public ski bus that stops by on way up to ski resort only)
