Our Story

We met on January 10, 2020, just after the New Year, through Hinge. Without the nudge of an app, we probably wouldn’t have crossed paths in Bristol. Liam was a laid-back quantity surveyor living in a lively house share on Ralph Road, while Helen was working as a paralegal with a full social calendar and plans to move to Croatia for work.

From the start, we bonded over a shared taste in music, festivals, good food, and getting outdoors. Things moved quickly, partly thanks to the timing of the pandemic. Lockdown meant we were suddenly living together in Liam's Ralph Road house share, with kind housemates who shared our sense of humour and love for having fun. We made the most of a strange situation, spending that year with homemade parties, games nights, and long walks and bike rides exploring the South West together.

In July 2021, we moved into our first flat together, just as Helen retrained as an English teacher. A year later, we took another step and bought our first home in Bristol, a place we’ve enjoyed gradually making our own.

Over the past few years, we’ve shared plenty of nights out, supper clubs, festivals, and holidays with friends. We’ve also loved our time up in the North West with both our families, whose support and company have been a huge part of our lives together.

Now, as we get ready to get married, we’re looking forward to whatever’s next, and we can’t wait to celebrate this next chapter with the people who mean the most to us.
