Q + A

What is the exact time and location of the ceremony?

The marriage ceremony begins at 1pm at St Oswald's Church, Brereton, Sandbach, CW11 1RY. We kindly ask that all guests arrive at the Church by 12:30pm at the latest.

What is the exact timing and location of the reception?

The wedding reception will begin at 2:30pm for day guests and we will be welcoming evening guests from 7:30pm at Swanley Meadows, Bank Lane, North Rode, Congleton, Cheshire, CW12 2PJ.

Is there a dress code for the wedding?

We would be grateful if guests would wear cocktail attire for the occasion. However, please do wear sensible heeled shoes given that the wedding reception is on a farm and consider bringing a second pair of more comfortable shoes for lots of dancing in the evening!

Will the ceremony and reception be indoors or outdoors?

The wedding ceremony will be indoors and the wedding reception will be partially outdoors. Please do bring a warm layer for in the evening when temperatures are likely to drop.

What is the expected end time of the celebration?

All celebrations will end at midnight.

Is parking available at the venue, or is transportation provided?

Yes. Parking is available at each of our venues.

Are there recommended hotels nearby, or does the couple have a room block?

We have provided a list of local hotels on our Accommodation and Transport page. Please be advised that hotels are already quite booked up on our date in the area and we would recommend finding accommodation without delay. There are also glamping tents which can be booked at our reception venue for the night of the wedding. Please visit the website for Swanley Meadows for information on how to book a bell tent.

Should I arrange a taxi or ride-sharing service if I’m not staying nearby?

Yes, booking a taxi if you are not staying at Swanley Meadows will be essential. Given that Congleton is a rural area we would recommend booking taxis several weeks in advance of the wedding. We have listed local taxi companies on our Accommodation and Transport page. It may also be worth explaining the wedding location to the taxi company in advance to avoid any confusion regarding the pickup location as the tipi reception is located in a field on a farm at the address.

Are children allowed at the wedding, or is it adults-only?

Our wedding is not an adults-only event but we can accommodate the children of close family members only and would be grateful if our friends with little ones could arrange childcare on this occasion.

Would the couple prefer cash gifts or donations to a specific cause?

Your presence on our big day is your present! If any guests do wish to mark the occasion with a gift we would appreciate donations to our honeymoon fund which can be arranged through the website.
