This is our first picture together! We met on the triathlon team at Stanford, and we started dating just after this race at UC Santa Barbara.

Although Hollis had traveled in Europe extensively in college, Kevin had never been! We did a ski trip in Austria, and this picture is at the top of Hohensalzburg Castle in Salzberg.

Kevin quit his job in 2018 to pursue professional triathlon full-time. While Kevin was living in Girona, Hollis was able to jump on a Ryanair flight from a research conference in Paris to visit Kevin. This picture is from a day trip up the Mediterranean coast.

Kevin was busy training and competing all over the world, but he still made time to come home for his family's annual trip to Lake Tahoe.

Hollis completed a half-ironman in her hometown of Boulder, and Kevin was there to supply her with food, water, and love.

Kevin began his 2nd season of professional triathlon with a training camp in the Santa Monica Mountains in southern California. Luckily, Hollis was willing to drive the 5 hours to come visit.

One of Hollis's favorite annual rituals is a trip to Oregon to visit her college friends and celebrate her birthday. Thankfully, Hollis and friends tolerated Kevin's presence.

This was the picture that made people think there might be a ring...but it was a few years too early

During the pandemic, Hollis and Kevin did a bunch of road trips across the western US. The salt flats in Nevada were a surprising highlight.

John Day National Monument was another road trip stop that overdelivered.

Instead of flying for her yearly pilgrimage to the PNW, Hollis dragged Kevin all over Oregon-Washington border.

Basically, we spent all of summer/fall 2020 in the car driving all over the western US. This was our first time in Zion National Park!

We took a quick detour at Bryce canyon, and saw orange for a week afterwards.

Finally, we spent a few days in Moab, making rock jokes and freezing our butts off.

18 months after it was originally planned, Hollis and Kevin finally made it to Iceland for a van trip with Hollis's family. This volcano with an unpronounceable name erupting on the very first day was an auspicious sign.

Each waterfall was more impressive than the last, as was the food and coffee (who knew?!).

We saw more waterfalls than we could count, and it took us a week to finally feel dry again.

Squeezing in one last trip before Hollis' defense, we swung by Gdansk, Poland for the wedding of our good friends, Kami and Kacper.

Hollis ~finally~ defended, and Kevin threw her a kick-ass defense party. Probably people thought Kevin would propose at the party. He did not, but there was cake.

We went to our good friends Maddi and Kenny's wedding in central Washington and thought to ourselves hmmmm... this is pretty cool...

But we needed to go to a few more weddings first to be sure!

By the last wedding of 2022, we started looking at rings...

...and on Christmas Day on the continental divide, Kevin tried to sum up 5.5 years in 30 seconds and failed miserably.

Happily, Hollis said yes!

Rather than do any wedding planning ourselves, we instead jetted off to India for some touristing before yet another wedding!

We saw some incredible architecture, ate lots of food, and forged a lifelong friendship with one of Hollis's co-workers who hosted us in Jaipur.

At the wedding in Mumbai, Hollis and Kevin wore traditional attire and looked *amazing.*

We've spent much of 2023 running around San Francisco telling other people, "yes, we ARE engaged thank you so much for asking!"

Before taking the plunge himself, Kevin got to be a groomsman for the first time!

We've loved being able to walk (or bike!) to tons of great local wine bars, restaurants, and concert venues near our home in San Francisco...

...but as fun as it is to be engaged, we're ready to do the dang thing, already.

2024 is shaping up to be a great year, and we can't wait to celebrate with all of our friends and family on the big day!
