Frankly, a lot of people thought Anthony and I would end up together at the Altar. More than just my Cousin, Anthony has remained one of my Best Friends since he was 6 months old and I gave him the best 1/2 year old Birthday Present ever; being born! Anthony and I have been through many of the typical milestones in the life of anyone growing up. We have supported eachother through not only the moments to celebrate but those tough moments where you learn the most, as well. From breakups to new relationships, he has been a major support for several moments and has helped shape various Core Memories and learnings that to this day, I cherish. I am forever grateful to call him my "brother" and can't imagine anyone else being by my side on my special day.
Dorian McGarry - Bestest Mensch
Growing up our family neighbor/hooligan in Shaler, I never in my wildest dreams imagined Dorian would become my Brother-in-Law, let alone have a shot with my sister, Lisa!! As luck would have it, Dorian was able to charm my sister and win my family over. Even in those days, Dorian has always been on my side to either protect me or to give me actual solid advice that would go on to help me handle situations or environments I was "Catholic Grade School" unsure about. As much as Dorian and I can frustrate each other, there is no other person I can go from confiding in to picking on, quite like I can with Dorian. He is one of the closest people to me in my life and I am honored to have him as my, "Number #2"! (insert Dr. evil pinky gesture here>
Kevin Rowlands - Groomsman
If there was ever a PIC (Partner in Crime) you wanted to have, it's Kevin! At one time, Kevin and I would have been considered Domestic Partners having lived together in four different apartments/houses throughout our nearly 30+ years of friendship! Kevin and I were friends all of Grade School, took some time apart at separate High Schools and reunited randomly in the Penn State Erie Bookstore. It was like no time had passed and we have been thick as thieves ever since! Noone can make me laugh or feel understood like Kevin can. Always down to make a memory, I am grateful that I have been able to create lasting ones with my best friend by my side!
Ian Menego - Groomsmen
Few people in the world can say they met one of their best friends the first week of college, at "Basketball Class" only after they elbowed you in the noggin while you were on a breakaway rendering you unconscious for a few moments and then proceeded to say, "Stay out of my paint..."
Everyone, meet Ian!
As you can figure, Ian and I have patched things up since then and grown together in so many ways. Not to sound cheesy but over the years, I've come to appreciate how Ian shows that he cares. Always asking, "How are you?" "How's work going?" "Did you take a look at that car?" I've often noticed that he shows interest in me and how my life is going, which I have always respected. Ian and I may give each other grief but there is no friend that will have your back like "Eenan".
Thomas Primola - Groomsman
Tom and I could not have been different when we met in Grade School. He was on a "Behavioral Report Card System." I was asked to be Jesus in Godspell. These two kids have the same group of friends but aren't friends themselves. How could they bridge the gap and get over the nonsense?? Well, after a seat reassignment in Mr. Cray's 4th Grade class and an inside joke involving Spandex later... VIOLA!
Ever since, Mr. Thomas Primola has ALWAYS been a constant in my life. No matter what phase; Grade School, Sports, High School, College, the Working World, Tom has always been there for me and given me some of the best advice I could ask for. In my best description of the two of us, Tom is the Ying to my Yang! Very much so "the chill" to my "hyper" self. If I ever need a laugh, a relaxed hang, and a cold beer, Tom is my guy.
Andrew Ash - Groomsman
When I think of the life we have built here in Dallas, it's hard not to include Mr. Andre Wash. This all started with a phone call to ask me if I wanted to apply for a job that would relocate me to Dallas. I had initially said no but Andrew is quite persuasive. Little did I know that spending pretty much every minute with an old friend, turned "Dallas Bestie", would have such an impact on my life. Best Friend, Boss, temporary roommates, cause of questionable short-term financial downturns... Andrew covers it all with a smile and infectious attitude! : ) He is always down for a good time and his energy has opened up the doors for Holly and I to do some pretty great things in our Dallas life. Things we wouldn't think to do otherwise. Not to use his condition of FOMO as an excuse, but if I ever need a friend that wants to hop a quick flight to Las Vegas or Cabo for the night, Andrew's on my speed dial. I'm grateful that we were able to reconnect to where we are now and thankful that he will be with Holly and I on our Wedding Day!
Brian Riley - Groomsman
Brian Christopher Riley and I were inseparable throughout our Grade School and High School years! The first friend I made at a young age, we quickly realized our interests were very aligned! Anything that involved Extreme Sports, how to handle an injury (usually to myself) or the Great Outdoors, I learned with my 2nd Family; The Rileys! After Brian ventured off to The Air Force Academy, I worried we might lose touch being so far apart for the foreseeable future but once we graduated and hit our career paths, we made every effort to get together and keep the good times rolling! From ski trips, to camping and seeing the country, Brian is my go to for adventure and I am super fortunate he was able to take time out of Med School, to be there for us on our big day!
Dean Reynolds - Groomsman
Dean is one of those long-term friends you can pick up where you left off at any given time. Dean and I have known each other for decades and one trait I have long admired is his courage and willingness to "take the risk" when it comes to life and experiences! Whether it's biking the West Coast highway, taking off to New Zealand thereafter or meeting up with me to have an adventure (Atlantic City to celebrate getting big-boy jobs, Las Vegas just cause, the Kentucky Derby to be dapper AF or The Smokey Mountains to spend a few days hiking and bummin it at a KOA) we can ALWAYS enjoy eachothers company. I have valued the friendship that Dean and I have and he is one of those guys you would do anything for. I am beyond grateful that he is here with me today and looking forward to the memories yet to come!
Matt Churilla - Groomsman
I was told that Matt was a long-time critic of men that Holly would date and honestly, was nervous the first time I met Matt. Believe it or not, after meeting him and all of the nerves, I felt oddly comforted considering the situation; at a house full of cousins to, in my mind, judge me.
Matt and I found common ground and I instantly felt a strong connection. I understood his humor and the way he connected with others. Matt made me feel comfortable from day one and I cannot imagine having this day without one of the four most important men in my Fiance's life.
Kyle Churilla - Groomsman
Kyle was the brother that I would eventually meet, that lives in California (insert jealousy emoji here). I initially didn't know too much about Kyle but once we had a chance to hang and get to know each other, I instantly knew that we would be buds. Brother 2/2... check! The way he views the world, thinks about life; cracks jokes... we are two people that connect through humor and banter, two of my favorite forms of communication!! In the number of times that Kyle and I have had the chance to spend some time together, for us to get along as we do, is special and something that I am very grateful for! The only other person I would have up here in Kyles's place is his new son, my NOW Nephew, Callen! :)
BRIDESMAIDS
Kari Kosin - Maid of Honor
Meet the MOH! Kari and I met at both of our first nursing jobs, when I got floated to her unit to help out on a busy shift. At the time, it would appear that being baby nurses was the only thing we had in common (think Wednesday Addams & Enid Sinclaire). I hopped off the elevator, walked up to Kari and said “Hi! I’m Holly and we’re gonna be friends!”. Kari looked at me and replied “which room do you want to take?”- not the response I was looking for, but still, I had a good feeling about this girl. We ended up working together frequently over the next weeks, and slowly but surely, the friendship I had promised started to unfold. Over time, we became each others confidants and hype girls. She has been my cheerleader, go-to secret keeper, clown when I need a laugh, reality-checker when I need it and inspiration for taking some of my biggest risks-(including moving to TX without knowing anyone or having a plan; all in the name of love). She has sat been by mine and my family’s side during my surgeries, been my personal FBI agent, become another member of the Churilla siblings, and quickly became good friends with my other half, which is so important to me! She is my best friend, and I couldn’t walk down the aisle without her!
Courtney Wilson - Matron of Honor
Meet the Matron of Honor! Courtney is my older sister that was somehow born after me. She made a larger-than-life entrance into this world, and hasn’t stopped since. I’m the timid one, she’s the social butterfly. As sisters do, we grew up bumping heads, scheming, having each others backs no matter what, and learning what it meant to be a best friend. If you ever need a side splitting laugh, a listening ear, or someone to give you honest truth, this chick delivers. Despite being the older sister, Court has taught me so much about life and wheat is important in it. She has defended me, challenged me, been the only friend I’ve had at times, as well as becoming an easy addition to many of my other friendships. She has had the better wardrobe in high school that I had helped myself to without asking, leading to many a sisterly brawl that we can now look back at and laugh about. When she and Bryan get together, the jokes don’t stop (often times lovingly at my expense). They are two peas in a pod, & we couldn’t be here today without her love and support!
Cheyenne Dunbar - Bridesmaid
BACK AT IT AGAIN! Who knew that such a deep friendship could be born in these four words? Meet Cheyenne! If you look up the term “ride or die” in the Webster Dictionary, you will find a photo of this girl! No matter what is on her plate, Chevy is there and down for anything & everything for the people she loves. She is the human energizer bunny with a big personality and an even bigger heart! We met in the parking lot of our crappy apartment complex in Monroeville while walking our dogs (BFF’s Tilly & Nini). Chey had just moved in, and despite having already lived there for 2 years, was the first person I had met there. Pretty immediately, the four of us were rarely apart. The balcony wine nights, inside jokes, adventures, heart-to-hearts and nonstop shenanigans were endless. I have too many favorite memories with this girl to know where to begin, but know that her spark and open-armed friendship have greatly shaped who I am today. Did I mention that she hyped up my nerves to peruse a relationship with a guy she never met that moved across the country…& then drove with me across the country to be with him? Cheyenne is not just a friend, but an extension of all the best parts of myself. She knows me so well that I one time walked into her apt and right away she looked at me and (knowing my anxious “ticks”) said “you’re ears are really red, what’s bothering you??”; and knows whether the answer to these problems is going to be chick flicks and junk food, or tequila…then delivers. She is the life of the party and the boost of confidence I need not only up at the alter, but every day!
Rebecca Mehling - Bridesmaid
Here for a good time AND a long time! Outgoing, beautiful, a firecracker who is wise beyond her years, meet Rebecca! Another member of my “Pack” (I guess TFAFH wasn’t all that bad, huh?). I met Rebecca at the now-famous dog park. Rebecca is probably the most outgoing person that I know, and has the ability to turn any mundane moment into a full blown party and I can honestly say I’ve never had a dull moment with her. She can see & manifest the beauty in everything, which makes her not only an amazing photographer, but friend. Who could see it coming the same girl who would belt out Blink 182 songs, randomly RSVP “yes” to midnight sled riding after a big snow storm & zip around our complex on a Razor scooter (where did we find that, again??) would be the same person I knew that I could trust and count on to listen to & actually relate to and help me out through thick and thin?! There are no words for her loyalty and love. Who else was going to miss a night of a weekend cabin trip to wait for me to get out of work, scour through the dollar tree to put together a last minute party or keep the secret & throw a brunch asking our mutual friends to be MY bridesmaids?! All while also being my unpaid therapist, a photographer, student, dog mom and career woman? No matter how busy, Rebecca is there and makes every detail completely special. Our big day would not be complete without her by my side!
Janet Zayas - Bridesmaid
The Blue Cheese to my olives, the pun to my dad jokes, the Tajin to my Paloma’s…meet Janet! She may be half a foot shorter than me, but I will forever look up to this girl! We technically met in line at PetSmart the day I got Tilly. Her fur-st born, Apolo, growled at T, & Janets first words to me were “Weird. He usually likes girls”. Janet is another member (& dare I say founding mother of?) “The Pack”. At first, I’ll admit that I was a little intimidated by this girl! That quickly changed to me greatly admiring her. She patiently took me and T under her wing and was the person who taught me to trust my wild pup & to “cut the cord” by taking her off her leash in the park. Several years later, she’s taught me to trust a lot more than that. We formed a friendship and learned that we have a lot in common, the most surface level is our taste in food- we joke that we share a palate. Janet is the balance in our friend group, the gravity that holds us down. I count on her to tell it like it is, not to just tell me what I want to hear, and I’m so grateful for that. She also knows how to party like nobody’s business! And how to do it in style! Many of the nights I hold closest to my heart (even if they are blurry) were shared with this queen. She is the person I can count on to find the humor in things that I do that nobody else “gets”. As much as I value the new meanings she has taught me to “clean lines”, “flossing” and our mutual love of Selena (no, not Gomez); I value her friendship and couldn’t imagine her not being by my side as I tie the knot!
Kassie Smith - Bridesmaid
Sweet, sassy and always armed with baked goods & the right words when you need them the most, meet Kassie! Kassie is another member of “The Pack”. We met, as all of my nearest & dearest have, at the dog park at our apt in Monroeville. To say that she is a presence is an understatement. Many people may disagree with this, but I am shy. I sit and try to get a feel of the vibe of a situation and keep to myself at first…but Kassie had other plans. From day one, her energy and contagious personality helped me feel right at home in my new friend group! We created a really special bond sharing our Covid horror stories, as we were both front line healthcare workers during the heart of the pandemic. We both love Harry Potter, and to this day have arguments over our respective house placements. We’ve been each others shoulder to cry on during difficult times, and each others biggest cheerleaders in our successes. She encouraged me to follow my heart in moving to TX, and makes sure I never run out of my Sarris PB chocolate covered pretzels when I’m feeling homesick. When she came to visit me and Bryan in Dallas, she effortlessly stole the hearts of all of our friends here! (There is still an active warrant out for that act of burglary). That is just who Kassie is. I am so proud to call her a friend, and even more proud to have her by my side on our wedding day!
Lisa McGarry - Bridesmaid
One of the most welcoming, creative and down for anything people you will ever meet, meet Lisa! Lisa & I met through the groom-to-be! She was his first best friend and “womb-mate”- & I am lucky enough to call her my future sister-in-law. Lisa welcomed me into their family and immediately made me feel like I belong there, which can’t be an easy task given that I am pretty shy at first. She is a good-getter and a genius when it comes to all things creative. Don’t let her competitive side fool you (as I have flashbacks of fearing for my life during games of “spoons”); her insightfulness &ability to see the bigger picture has helped me through so many difficult times. While I tend to procrastinate, Lisa dives into any task & solves it with seemingly no effort- a perfect example is finding the only bridal shop in PGH the carried “THE DRESS”!- and she doesn’t even live there! She has taught me how to practice mindfulness, how to go with the flow & very importantly how to understand, communicate and grow with her baby brother. She has a keen & unbiased listening ear [admittedly there’s been an occasion or two where I called her to vent about our favorite groom-to be], and helps to get to the root of the issue and look past all the other stuff. She puts her competitive side away during game nights, & always agrees to be on my team, knowing darn well that I’m a handicap in most games, & makes it a blast for me. She’s an open book & has taught me about how love evolves, grows & that it wont always look the same throughout the years, but that it is always there. I couldn’t ask for a better addition to my family or teammate stepping into my new role in this game we call life; and I know that with her by my side, I’ll be the best co-captain of mine and Bry’s “dream team”!
Chloe Smith - Bridesmaid
Adult emo kid, secret VPR enthusiast, dark sense of humor, and an open book are just a few of the shared qualities between me and this beauty…meet Chloe! You’re probably noticing a trend here, Chloe is another member of my beloved “Pack”. If you could have a twin sister born to a different family, that sums up me & Chloe! The first time I met Chloe, I noticed she was wearing a My Chemical Romance shirt, and before even saying “hello”, I knew that we would be great friends. What I didn’t know at the time was the heart of pure gold & fierce protectiveness & loyalty she had for the people she loves that would forever make her a safe place for me. Chloe is always there to make a good time even more fun, and to befriend anybody without any judgement or hesitation. She has impeccable taste in music & is the first person I go to when our old favorite screamo bands put out something new, and feel like a TEENAGER (if you know, you know) when we go down the rabbit hole talking about and listening to them. She is a queen behind the salon chair, and when I blurt out something that may mortify most people, I can count on her to see the humor in it, share a similar situation & laugh until we cry…or sometimes vice versa (like I said, adult emo kids). She is unmatched when I need someone to talk crap with, and equally unmatched at making me feel understood no matter what. It’s been said that the strongest friendships aren’t with the people you get to see the most, but with the ones who will always show up for you no matter what, even if its from 1,000 miles away- and she is always right there! ~because she’s good as gold~!
Veronica Churilla - Bridesmaid
Warm, beauty that can’t be missed in any way, and the most true blue person that I know, meet Veronica! Some of my favorite things about Veronica are how understanding yet silly she is, that you will always know what’s on her mind in the most eloquent way possible, and that any time any day she is always down for a glass of wine; and these are just the surface level. Veronica is effortlessly thoughtful, as if it is just in her DNA to hit the nail on the head every time with any personal endeavor she is tackling. Me and Veronica met through my oldest brother, Matt when they began dating. From the second I met Veronica, I WAS IN LOVE! Veronica’s light-hearted demeanor, mixed with humor & ability to deal with & crack back at my family’s jokes not only made her fit right in with the family, but made me feel immediately like a had a new friend. I always know that when we go to get dinner, or drinks, or just hang out at the house that the laughs are going to be endless & are always memories that I hold close to my heart. Veronica is also one of the best heart-string-tuggers I know. If you ever mention something that you enjoy, you can count on Veronica to remember & find the perfect sentiment or gift related to it, and present it to you when you have totally forgotten that the conversation had happened! Veronica also has a great eye for fashion & I rely on her a lot to keep me on trend (thank you for the advice on well-fitting boyfriend jeans) & not like an old millennial. Most importantly, Veronica has the ability to make you feel heard and understood, and never judged, so I know that I can always go to her when I am feeling extra crazy! She calms the storm that sometimes occupies my mind, which is why I need her there with me on the biggest day, calming all of my crazy emotions!
Shannon Churilla - Bridesmaid
The most clever, stylish & generous person I know, meet Shannon! I met Shannon through my older brother, Kyle- who was lucky enough to make her his bride! Shannon is my sister-in-law, but has always felt to me like a best friend. She has traveled the world, worked the coolest jobs, made me a boy aunt and truly makes me believe that nothing is impossible. You name it, she’s done it, and has taken some knowledge with her- which is why when I’m stumped or need advice, she gets ten-paragraph-long texts from me. Even through working, living in LA & doing all of her clever projects, Shannon never misses a birthday, holiday or special occasion; and her gifts, texts, cars and words of support are so thoughtful that it feels like she’s right here with me, even from miles away. Her outlook on life is so sunny & when I get complainy; her cool, calm and collected responses change my perspective. I find myself asking “WWSD” A LOT. Shannon is always a great time and knows how to get the most out of every situation, whether its hanging out in the living room, going on a whale watching boat with no whales, belting our favorite Taylor Swift songs at The Eras Tour that she snagged us tickets to, or sitting on a train that has already closed for the night for God knows how long on a 48 hour trip to London- and has made them all the time of my life! She is stunning on the outside, and I don’t know how; but even more beautiful in the inside. She has been by my side through all of my “eras”, so there is no way I couldn’t have her by my side at our wedding!
