Recommendations for travel and accommodations

Atlantic Beach is part of the Southern Outer Banks of North Carolina, and is therefore a little removed from metropolitan areas. That being said, driving or a combination of driving and flying will be the only way to access our wedding location.

On this page, we'll include recommendations for traveling to Atlantic Beach, as well as suggestions of where to stay once you get there - including our hotel with a room block!

Travel Recommendations

For those looking to fly into North Carolina, we recommend the following airports as your final flight destination:

Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU) - approx. 3 hours to Atlantic Beach

- Once you fly into RDU, you would still need to acquire a rental car to drive into Atlantic Beach. There are direct flights from both Pittsburgh and Philadelphia into RDU through American Airlines.

Coastal Carolina Regional Airport (EWN) - approx. 50 minutes to Atlantic Beach

- This airport is still 50 minutes away from the destination, so you may still want to consider a rental car, but scheduling an Uber from here is also an option. This airport is much closer than RDU, but always requires a connection. They typically connect through the Charlotte airport.

Accommodations in Atlantic Beach area

Here are some other options aside from our hotel, especially for any of our guests that want to extend their trip past the weekend so they can enjoy all that the Southern Outer Banks has to offer.

1) Home & condo rentals in Atlantic Beach or Pine Knoll Shores

This option is for anyone who might want to stay directly on the beach (though no promises that it'll be warm enough to swim in the ocean in March). Condo rentals can be found on sites like VRBO, Airbnb, and Spectrum Rental Properties.

2) Historical downtown Beaufort

Beaufort is only 15 minutes from Atlantic Beach and is a great option if you are looking to stay in a charming, walkable port town as opposed to the beach. You can also find rental homes in Beaufort at VRBO, Airbnb, and Spectrum Rental Properties. For anyone who would prefer a hotel in this area, we recommend the Beaufort Hotel.
