Long ago, a young boy lived in a dry land. For many years, his dream was to find a beautiful princess and get married.There too, lived a young girl. She quietly dreamed of a prince charming finding her and falling in love. The boy and the girl knew each other for a long time, but they did not know they were dreaming of one another. In eighth grade, Hudson and Katie were placed in a class together where they got to know each other as closer friends than ever before. The common music in their ears that year was classmates making jokes at the love story that seemed to be unfolding, but both Hudson and Katie denied any feelings. Under the surface, however, they both dreamed of being with each other. Hudson continued to think of Katie as special in high school as they developed a unique friendship. They spent time together in every interest they both loved. They talked to each other better than anyone else, and they supported each other as best friends. Hudson loved Katie even when it was hard, patiently hoping for her to be his. Years of unspoken feelings between the two culminated in a production of Beauty and the Beast their senior year of high school. The talented Hudson was The Beast and Katie was a Fille de la Ville. In some ways visible to the eye and other ways visible in the heart, Hudson and Katie began to fall in love on that stage. Most touching was the Hudson's rendition of "If I Can't Love Her" dedicated to his real life Belle, Katie. Just before graduating high school, Katie revealed to Hudson her feelings. The two began dating on June 17, 2023, though they loved each other long before. Hudson proposed exactly two years later, on June 17, 2025.

We have reserved a block of rooms at the Garner Hotel for the nights of March 13 and March 14, available at a discounted rate of $80 per night, plus tax. Both double queen and king rooms are available. To reserve a room, please call the hotel directly and request the “Brown Wedding Block.” Availability is limited. The Garner Hotel is located in Liberal. It offers a 24-hour front desk, a business center, and free WiFi. The hotel features an indoor pool and hot tub, fitness center, and a shared lounge. Selected rooms will provide you with a kitchenette with a fridge and a microwave. Guests at the hotel can enjoy a buffet breakfast.

A charming coffee &amp; drink shop owned by the bride's brother and his wife. It's home to memories of the bride and groom skipping school to get drinks, conversations and time with friends, and most recently, the place Hudson proposed to Katie.

The Cozy Corner

Near and dear to the bride's heart, Dorothy's House and Coronado museum is a local walkthrough of the classic Kansas-set story of a young girl and her dog. See Liberal and Seward Co. history, Wizard of Oz memorabilia, and walk the halls of Katie's first job.

Owned by the grandparents of the groom, Brown's Furniture is home to many cousin games of hide-and-seek, summer jobs, and the big red chair. Stop by to take a picture, or to shop around for some furniture.
