We are so excited to share this special place with you!!!
The biggest piece of advice we have is: GET OUTSIDE! The Rocky Mountains are home to some of the most beautiful hikes, trails and parks imaginable. Below, we listed some fun spots that are dear to us, but when you get the chance, we encourage you to explore and enjoy the outdoors as much as you can!
Basalt is a small town, home to many great people. Please be kind & respectful, shop at our local stores if you can and remember to have patience - that includes everything from navigating travel logistics to waiting for a table at a restaurant. :)
One of our favorite trails in Basalt! Considered a moderately challenging route, it is an 8.1 mile out-and-back and takes an average of 4 hours to complete. This is a very popular area for hiking, horseback riding, and mountain biking, so you'll likely encounter other people while exploring. Dogs are welcome, but must be on a leash.
Now called Westbound & Down - Located in Willits and within walking distance of the Element Hotel. A great place to hang out and meet up with other guests.
Everything you want in a diner, from the huevos rancheros to the cinnamon roll pancakes. This is a Basalt staple and a must try!
THE CHICKEN SANDWICH AND MARGARITA ARE KILLER.
Admission is FREE! Plus, there's a rooftop bar with a great view of Aspen Mountain and a new Swedish Hill Bakery where you get a snack or a coffee before exploring the rest of town!
