San-Lee Park is a 177+ acre park, located at 572 Pumping Station Road, that offers hiking trails, a mountain bike trail, a Nature Center, playground, picnic facilities, campgrounds, and two stocked lakes for fishing. Paddle boat rentals are available seasonally.

The Temple Theatre is an historic performance center in Sanford, Lee County, North Carolina. The Temple Theatre was built in 1925 by Robert Ingram, Sr., at a time when Sanford had a population of only 3,500. The name "Temple" comes from being located next door to what was once Sanford's Masonic Lodge.
The rich history of Sanford, NC is displayed through a Public Arts initiative of outdoor murals promoting the city's roots, hometown heroes and culture.

The Endor Iron Furnace near the community of Cumnock, NC (near Sanford in Lee County) was in use from the early 1860's until 1874 and was a pig iron furnace. This structure is one of the oldest and most significant extant structures in Lee County. In 2001, The furnace and a 426-acre surrounding property were transferred to the North Carolina Department of Cultural Resources with the assistance of Triangle Land Conservancy. The site will be developed as a nature preserve and park, and the furnace may be eventually restored.
