We recommend staying in Mattoon, Illinois. It’s about 10-15 minutes from the reception venue and about 50 minutes from the ceremony site. And unlike Charleston, it has a wide array of hotels to choose from. We’re planning to stay at the Hilton Garden Inn. There will be a shuttle to help guests get back to their hotels safely.

For anyone flying in, Charleston is roughly 2 hours from St. Louis (which has a more conveniently located airport) and Indianapolis. It’s 3 hours from Chicago, and there is an airport in Champaign-Urbana, which is about 40 minutes away.

If you don’t want to rent a car, you can take an Amtrak train from Chicago or Champaign, and we’d be happy to help you find someone to give you a ride to and from the ceremony venue.
