Isaac and Anya met in a class on the University of the Nations campus in Kona, where they’d both been serving for several years doing Christian missions work. From the first conversation, there was a definite interest. After exchanging numbers a few days later, they kept in contact through text messages and phone calls while Anya visited friends and family in Alaska, and Isaac led an outreach team to Uganda. They were long distance friends in this way for about three months. Finally the day came where they were both back in the same state and Isaac could make the move of asking Anya to be his girlfriend. It did not take long to find that what both Isaac and Anya had been praying for in a spouse, was found in each other. After being able to meet most of each others immediate family and gaining their blessing, Isaac asked Anya to marry him on January 29th, 2024.
