If you have an invitation with 2 people on it or your invitation says " & Guest" then YES! Bring a friend, family member, or special someone to join in the celebration!
Can I bring my kids?
If your invitation includes "and Family" we encourage you to bring them along! We will provide childcare for kids aged 2 - 12 from 6:30 - 10 PM so parents can boogie.
What's the best way to get around D.C.?
We highly encourage you to take the Metro system! With an easy-to-understand color-coordinated route system, air-conditioned stations, and brand-new train cars, there is no better way to get you from point A to point B and all stops in between! Make sure to purchase a SmarTrip card at any station or download a virtual card using ApplePay or GoogleWallet! Alternatively, you can use any number of bike/scooter share programs in the city (CapitalBikeshare, Lyft, Lime, and others). We DO NOT recommend driving around the city. Washington D.C. was actually designed to be hard to drive in and out of (something fun to learn on a tour!), so we don't recommend testing the Founding Fathers' best-laid plans.
What's the weather like in D.C. this time of year?
Good question! Who the hell knows?! Bring some warm clothes, some cool clothes, and a couple of spares. Much as we love our swamp, it can be unpredictable at times. We'll be hoping for the "normal" sunny and 60s (15 celsius for those Across the Pond ) around this time.
What should I wear to the ceremony/reception?
Formal/black tie.
Where should I stay?
We will have bus service for the Hilton Washington DC Capitol Hill and encourage you to book there, but there are plenty of hotels close by (see Travel section). If those are all booked (darn!), DC has a ton of options downtown. Check out the travel section for some options!
How can I get to and from the ceremony, hotel and venue?
We will be arranging shuttles from the ceremony to the reception and back to the hotel block at the end of the night. For transportation to the ceremony, we suggest taxi/Uber/Lyft, taking the Metro to Capitol South station and going for a bit of a walk (approx. a 1/2 mile) or a bike via the "MBT" for the more adventurous.
Is there parking at the ceremony and/or venue?
St. Mark's has limited parking. There is also very limited street parking, but this is Capitol Hill so expect slim pickings. The reception venue has ample parking in its FREE (for real) parking lot.
Can I take photos at the wedding?
Please do not take photos during the ceremony. We will be sure to post the lovely work of our photographer for all to see! During the reception? Have at it! Go nuts! Upload any gems to our Google Drive using the link below:
