Our Story

Bella's Version

Corey and I met five years before we ever started dating. He was my brother’s close friend from the Naval Academy, and they later became Marine aviators and roommates during their time in flight school together. I first met Corey before my freshman year at LSU, but at the time, he was just my brother’s military friend, and I was just his friend’s little sister. We had a playful, sarcastic rapport but nothing more. Fast forward to 2021, at my brother’s rehearsal dinner. I was assigned to sit next to Corey, but he was arriving late after an eight-month deployment in the Middle East. My mom insisted I order his dinner, though I protested, trying to pawn off the task on Gaby. Eventually, with much eye-rolling, I did it. When Corey arrived, I greeted him with a quick hug and shoved his food at him so I wouldn’t have to hold it any longer. He insists I ran up and “jump-hugged” him out of excitement, but that’s his version. Seeing his beaming reaction—mistaking my forced gesture for thoughtfulness—was unexpectedly endearing. That night, we kept gravitating toward each other, our usual banter taking on a flirtatious edge. At the wedding, it continued, culminating in Corey giving me his jacket as we sat outside talking. When the night ended, he walked me back to my hotel, gave me a sweet, innocent smooch, and left. Since that night? Well, Corey has basically been obsessed with me ever since!

Bella and I met five years before we ever started dating. She was Joby’s sister who always seemed to just yell at me! After the Naval Academy, Joby and I became Marine aviators and roommates in Corpus Christi Texas together. Over those years I grew closer to the LaBruzzo Family and ended up crossing paths with Bella more and more. My first time visiting LSU while I was in flight school was for Bella’s bid day for her sorority. We had a playful, sarcastic rapport at that time but nothing more. Fast forward to 2021, at her brother’s rehearsal dinner. Bella asked her mom if she could sit next to me, but since I was arriving late after getting home just one day before from my deployment overseas. Mrs. LaBruzzo insisted Bella order my dinner, and Bella was ecstatic about it, getting butterflies at the thought of sitting next to me. Bella was looking at the door all evening until I finally rolled through the door after dinner was over. When I arrived, Bella greeted me at the door with a jump hug and my dinner in a leftover box! A bit forward if you ask me, but she looked amazing and smelled nice! I was very surprised when she jump-hugged me and I said “Wow, you look great tonight.” She said “whatever” and walked away looking back at me with a flirty grin! She knew the quickest way to my heart was with a meal! That night, we kept gravitating toward each other, our usual banter taking on a flirtatious edge. At the wedding, Bella seemed to be following me around the wedding all night no matter where I went. I was getting the idea that she was into me. Playful banter and dancing throughout the night culminated with me letting her wear my jacket and walked her home safely to her hotel room to end the night. As she gave me the jacket back, I received a sweet, innocent smooch, before she sprinted off into the elevator. Oh but there’s more………….she then steals my phone number from her moms phone to text me goodnight and make sure I made it back to my hotel room safely! A kind gesture that put me to bed smiling. Since that night? Well, Bella has basically been obsessed with me ever since!
