Campos do Jordão is a municipality in the state of São Paulo in southeastern Brazil. It is part of the Metropolitan Region of Vale do Paraíba e Litoral Norte. The population is 52,405 (2020 est.) in an area of 290.52 square kilometres (112.17 sq mi). The city is situated 1,628 metres (5,341 ft) above sea level and is the highest city in Brazil. The driving distance between Itajubá to Campos do Jordão is 33.4 miles and it takes about 1h21m by car. Getting a taxi or Ubering there can cost you about US $20-60.
Activities for tourists and winter residents. These include hiking, mountain climbing, treetop cable swings (arborismo), horseback riding, and ATV and motorbike riding.
July, of winter season vacations, sees an enormous influx of visitors due in part to the winter festival of classical music. This is a very country town where you should take a day trip to. It's where Belle was born and it's known for the Parque das Águas (literally translate as Park of the waters). Great place to spend the day and try some different tasting waters from the local aquifers.
Once you may be probably landing in São Paulo, you could also just start off your adventure there! The most affordable way to get from Sao Paulo Airport (GRU) to São Paulo is to bus, which costs $1-$7 and takes 21 min. While Taxi or Uber would cost $15- $19 and takes 20 min.
The City of São Paulo, also called Sampa, is with its nearly 20 million inhabitants one of the largest cities in the world, and the capital of the State of São Paulo (the most populous state of Brazil). São Paulo city is larger than New York, being the largest city in the Americas and in the southern hemisphere.
There is so much to see and to do, and it has activities for all tastes! It has tons of tourists from everywhere in the world all the time, so you can certainly get to communicate in English at restaurants, hotels, and touristic activities or tours. You can also have access to many guided tours that take you from São Paulo to various destinations (like Rio de Janeiro).
Sao Paulo is relatively safe, and youll have a great time there. However, you must exercise caution at all times while visiting. Just like with safety in Rio de Janeiro travelers must avoid areas like the slums, known as favelas. Do not keep valuable things in sight. Don’t hold your cell phone, money or documents in your hand – that’s inviting a snatch-and-grab theft.
It is a cute country town known for its farm lands, waterfalls, hikes and farm hotels. It is about 45 miles away from Itajuba and it takes about one and a half hours to get there.
Rio de Janeiro is a huge seaside city in Brazil, famed for its Copacabana and Ipanema beaches, 38m Christ the Redeemer statue atop Mount Corcovado and for Sugarloaf Mountain, a granite peak with cable cars to its summit. The city is also known for its raucous Carnaval festival, featuring parade floats, flamboyant costumes and samba dancers. It has one of the most beautiful beaches in the country and world.
Rio is a big city and as any other we recommend you to exercise caution and being aware of your surroundings. The city is also known for its sprawling favelas (shanty towns). Though Rio counts on a heavy police presence in the tourist areas, just stay away from favelas and enjoy the city!
