Alex and Iyanna met on the Hinge dating app | Their first date was a romantic, three-hour walk along Lake Michigan with hot cocoa. Fast forward to two weeks later after their second date - Alex and Iyanna knew they had something special.

Although Alex forgot his wallet on the third date, he made up for it with his amazing charm.

The couple reaches a new milestone: moving in together!

Iyanna's Birthday! Alex booked a photoshoot at JCPenney and a dinner with Iyanna's closest Chicago friends.

Alex enthusiastically agrees to take dance lessons, one of Iyanna's favorite hobbies, and although he's rhythmically challenged (an allegation that Alex denies), he always shows up 100%.

Iyanna meets the family...the entire family. Alex had the pleasure of being best man at his cousin's wedding, where plenty of loved ones were in attendance.

After plenty of Facetime laughs, Alex finally meets Iyanna's closest friends of 10 years in person - her co-maid of honors.

Iyanna agrees (after Alex's frequent begging) to try golfing! She may struggle to hit the ball consistently, and her ball-striking is a threat to man and beast, but she always hacks it with fervor and manic joy.

Thanksgiving in Atlanta | Alex meets Iyanna's entire family. It was a great day of visiting multiple houses and eating plenty of food, surrounded by so much love.

The 2nd year of The Nutcracker...ANNNND The night Alex proposed! It was a beautiful, private proposal at the historic Rookery building in Chicago, with a violinist playing in the background to a playlist that Alex curated. Alex reserved the photographer for an engagement shoot after the big surprise.

Alex and Iyanna spend Christmas skiing in Colorado with Alex's dad! Iyanna may have been a first time skier but she was a natural. Alex was very impressed! (Alex admits this allegation)
