Our Wedding

Three and a half years ago, we both were single and little did we know that we had some people very close to us working behind the scenes to set us up. Matt’s sister, Carie, works with Jackelyn’s good friend Brooklyn and her aunt Becky. Carie was asking Brooklyn one day if she knew of anyone for her brother to meet, Becky overheard and joined the conversation and both suggested that he meet Jackelyn. A couple weeks later, they met for drinks in Eau Claire. They got to know each other while snowshoeing and hiking with their dogs, checking out the local breweries, camping and traveling. Since meeting over three years ago, they've traveled to 2 different countries, a few different states, camped in new campgrounds and hiked new trails together... most often bringing their boys (Rusty and Wilson) along for the ride. When they're not outside adventuring or hanging out with friends and family, they'll usually be found trying to get the many house projects complete...hello 3 season room that's been two years in the remodel phase! We can't thank you all enough for sharing our day with us. It means more to us than we'll ever be able to put into words.

If you are planning for an extended weekend, Paradise Shores is a great place to stay! It is located on Lake Holcombe, where we love to spending time throughout the year, but especially in the Summer! Rent a pontoon and park it at swim island then make a stop at Ted's for live music and a bite to eat!

Camping

Pine Point is great campground in Holcombe and has a little beach great for swimming. There are bathrooms with showers and some sites that have docks as well for a morning kayak cruise! Other campgrounds:Otter Lake Campground - closer to The Farm, not much of a swimming lake.

If you are planning to turn the celebration into a long weekend, here a few places to visit that we enjoy if you have some free time while you're around!

They have a great little tour you can take, then enjoy a few of their brews in the lodge and check out their gift shop!

Jacob Leinenkugel Brewing Company

A cute little brewery close to Holcombe with great homemade pizza! Be sure to get the spent grain crust and beer marinara!

Moonridge Brew Pub

Have a seat on the roof overlooking the river and enjoy a drink from their great line of spirits or one of their beers! The Sheeley House Saloon right down the road is an awesome spot to grab a bite to eat as well and is a fun little historic spot.

Chippewa River Distillery

Great coffee + boutique with women's apparel, home decor, gifts + more!

Broadway

They offer tours and a viewing area of the milking parlour, great cheese and a little cafe to enjoy breakfast or lunch at!

Marieke Gouda

Great place to walk through with alot of animals to see, petting zoo, a fountain to run through, little creek, and Glen Loch dam. If you have children they would love to visit Irvine!

Irvine Park Zoo

Typically has live music during the day - a great spot to recover on Sunday! They also have cabins you can rent.
