After matching on Hinge, Tyler and Jaclyn had their first date on April Fools in 2019. Very quickly into their first date, they realized that one of the pictures of Tyler standing on the dock at his family cottage actually had the bay where Jaclyn grew up swimming in the background. Tyler asked Jaclyn if she knew where his family cottage was and Jaclyn shyly admitted that she had been hiking through their property in the winter for many years!

Nearly a year into dating, the world took an unexpected twist. Jaclyn had been traveling in Australia when Tyler picked her up from the airport. He was quickly informed that he was no longer able to come into the office for work. With Tyler having roommates, the choice had to be made to either not see Jaclyn or move in with her and her roommate Betty. He chose the latter and moved into their 600 square foot apartment for the next 3 months. [Side note: Betty is amazing for being ok with that]

After surviving (and one might even say thriving) living together during this time, Jaclyn and Tyler decided to move in together in November of 2020. Following this, they purchased their first home together in April and adopted their house moose (Dale the Doberman) in the fall.

Fast forward to the fall of 2022, Tyler proposed during a getaway to the Elora Mill. Since then they have been eagerly planning the details of their wedding with the help of lots of family and friends and very much look forward to celebrating with everyone in July!
