Warped Wing Brewing Co. is a Dayton craft brewery inspired by Ohio’s rich history of innovation and invention. We are committed to carrying that spirit forward by brewing new proprietary beer styles along with original “warped” interpretations. The Warped Wing name pays homage to the famous invention by the Wright Brother’s called “wing warping.” Wing Warping was a system designed for lateral roll control of a fixed-wing aircraft. The technique, used and patented by the Wright brothers, consisted of a system of pulleys and cables to twist the trailing edges of the wings in opposite directions. James Pettigrew, a Scottish anatomist, naturalist, and aviation pioneer published Animal Locomotion in which he created a drawing of how birds flap their wings to create lift in flight. The Wright brothers identified Pettigrew’s warped wing theory as the inspiration for the wing warping technology. We reinterpreted that sketch for our logo design. Innovations like these are part of our mission, to share Dayton and Ohio stories through our beers and branding
One of Dayton’s first full-service pizzerias, Marion’s Piazza quickly gained a devoted following. With an outdoor café vibe brought indoors, Marion dubbed his restaurant a “piazza” to reflect its Italian courtyard aesthetic. Marion introduced thin-crust, square-cut pizza—now known as “Dayton-style” pizza. Using only the finest ingredients, Marion’s became a local favorite and has since grown to nine locations. Committed to quality food and service, Marion’s has been rated “Dayton's #1 pizza” since the 1980s
Born from the idea that pizza should be something you enjoy with the whole crew, we created a place where everyone’s welcome. Whether you’re rolling in with the family, meeting up with friends, or just grabbing a quick slice, you’ll find a laid-back atmosphere, high-quality ingredients, and a spacious, communal beer hall setting. From our fresh, housemade dough to our creative pies and veggies, we’ve stayed true to our roots, focusing on quality and consistency every step of the way
As a child, our founder, Nicholas Lambrinides, watched and learned as his mother lovingly prepared her unique family recipes in their hometown of Kastoria, Greece. He marveled at the magical blend of flavors and dreamed of one day sharing her culinary delights with the world. Opportunity knocked when the family moved to America. They settled in the bustling Midwestern town of Cincinnati, Ohio. And in 1949, Nicholas realized his dream when he opened the doors of his first restaurant, perched atop Price Hill on the city’s West Side. His view of the downtown cityscape inspired the name and Skyline Chili was born
