We hope you have enjoyed unveiling your special handmade invitation as much as we enjoyed putting it together. Allow us to walk you through the significance of each detail and the story behind them all.
The Decorative Details
Each invitation has been handwritten by us on cotton paper and all corners have been personally stamped. To finish it off, the baby's breath was dried and cut into smaller pieces and placed in the silk ribbon bow.
The Bronze Crest
The top of your invitation is embellished with an elegant seal comprised of many delicate elements. Formed by combining important details from both the Roberts and Kleynhans family crests, we present to you the new Roberts family crest. Take a look at the shield in the center of the crest. On the left rests a wolf signifying the Kleynhans family, and on the right is the lion from the Roberts side. Above the shield is a helmet with a dove holding an olive branch in his beak. This detail was added to represent our shared faith and God's promise. The crest was drawn out and then transformed into a stamp.
The Envelope Seal - Angels
As you have read, the wedding venue is called Onder Engele, which in English means "Under Angels." We thought it would be special to incorporate details from the venue into the invitation. If you take a look at the seal that enclosed your invitation, you will see three angels. These match the angel statues found around and in the chapel where our ceremony will be held.
We are both incredibly excited to be able to share this special moment in our lives with you. As you read about the details and sentimentality of your invitation, we hope that our joy and excitement shines through.
