Yes. Both the ceremony and the reception will be held at The Citadel Beach Club on Isle of Palms, SC. Weather permitting, the ceremony will take place outside on the back lawn. The reception, including bar service, dinner, and dancing, will take place inside.

Please plan to arrive at the venue no later than 4:30 PM. The venue is conveniently located; however, traffic getting on the island can be a pain in the a**. Please plan your travel accordingly!

Yes, there is a large gravel lot available for guests to park at the venue. Please note that while this is a large parking lot, it is also available to other Citadel alumni and community members, so if able, it would be best for you to make a few friends and carpool. Overnight parking is not allowed.

The Charleston area is home to several colleges, so Uber/Lyft/other options are available to use. Using alternate transportation will also ensure the parking lot does not overflow.

We ask that you please refrain from taking photos during the ceremony. However, take as many photos as you would like during the reception!

You may be thinking, "Did they just ... make up ... beach formal?" Well, the internet says it is a thing, so it must be a thing. Allow us to explain. Fellas, think lightweight suit, a nice shirt, and/or slacks/khackis. Ladies, think midi/maxi dresses, cocktail dresses, or a jumpsuit. Weather in the Charleston/Isle of Palms area can still be fairly warm in late August and early September. Expect temperatures to be in the upper 70s to mid-80s.

The Charleston International Airport is the most convenient airport in the area. It is located about 25 miles from the venue, or about 30 minutes without traffic.

We have a block of rooms reserved at the hotels listed under "Travel." You may also take a look at some of the Airbnb options around, as this is a great way for larger parties to stay together.

June and July are the busiest months at Isle of Palms. That being said, there should not be too many tourists (i.e., traffic!) in late August/early September. Regardless, please plan ahead when it comes to planning flights and hotels and arriving at the venue - it's better to be safe than sorry!

The Citadel Beach Club is a non-smoking venue. Smoking is not allowed indoors or outdoors. We politely ask that you refrain from smoking of any kind (if you have to ask if it is okay, the answer is "no").
