Wedding Details

What's the dress code?

Since this wedding is in a botanical gardens, we'd love to have all our guests dress to match in your garden formal attire. Women are encouraged to wear colorful or floral cocktail dresses, and men should feel free to spruce up their suits with a little color.

What time should I arrive?

The botanical gardens are quite large for our little city. Please plan to arrive no earlier than 3:15pm and no later than 3:45pm. This will allow you time to park and walk to the ceremony location. If you need assistance getting from the parking lot to the ceremony location, there will be a golf cart available.

Will the wedding be outdoors?

The ceremony will be outside so we can enjoy the beauty that the botanical gardens offers. However, the reception will be inside so you'll have plenty of air conditioning to dance the night away.

Will I get a chance to explore the botanical gardens?

Your entry to the gardens is on us! During cocktail hour, we encourage you to spend a bit of time exploring its beauty.

Are children invited?

While we love all the children in our lives, we want to ensure that everyone has an opportunity to have a night to remember. The wedding and reception will be an adults-only event. If you're traveling from out of town and would like information on some great babysitters we know, we'd be happy to provide that to you!

What weather should I expect?

Indiana summers can be hot and humid, and it looks like this weekend is no exception. We'll provide fans and water for the ceremony to help you stay cool. The reception will be indoors in the air conditioning.

Can I take photos of the ceremony?

We kindly ask that all phones be put away during the processional and throughout the ceremony to allow our professional photographer to get the best shots. However, we encourage you to take as many photos as you'd like at al other wedding events (including cocktail hour and the reception!) and post them to our shared wedding album for everyone to enjoy.

Will there be an open bar?

Yes! All weekend events will have an open bar for guests to enjoy.

When does the wedding reception end?

We'll wrap up by 10:00pm at Wellfield Botanic Gardens, but would love to continue the party at The Jackson Rooftop. Transportation between the two venues will be provided, and late-night bites will be available while we watch the fireworks from the rooftop bar.

Will there be meals for guests with dietary restrictions?

Of course! Please let us know your restrictions or allergies when submitting your RSVP so we can ensure that you have a meal you'll enjoy.

Transportation & Lodging

How do I get to Elkhart?

There are multiple options for flying in, and we recommend the South Bend (SBN) airport for the easiest access. From here, we'd recommend renting a car for the 30 minute drive to Elkhart. If you'd prefer to fly to a larger airport, Chicago is about two hours away. O'Hare (ORD) is the larger airport, but Midway (MDW) is a bit closer. We also fly out of Detroit (DTW) occasionally, which is about 3 hours from downtown Elkhart.

Is there a hotel block?

Yes! The Hotel Elkhart is in downtown Elkhart and closest to the venue. Rooms can be booked with Group Code 90M for $119 per night. Please note that this is the same weekend as the Elkhart Jazz Festival, so there will be more people in Elkhart than usual. We recommend booking your room early if you'd like to stay close to the venue!

How do I get to the venue from the hotel?

A shuttle will be provided for those staying at Hotel Elkhart, departing at approximately 3:15pm and again at 3:40 pm. Guests will be able to return to the hotel via the shuttle following dinner, and shuttle service will also be available to and from the after-party at The Jackson Rooftop. If you're staying at Hotel Elkhart, this is the easiest way to attend all the wedding festivities on Saturday!

Do I really need a rental car?

Elkhart is the RV Capital of the World—not the Uber Capital of the World. Unfortunately, if you try to rely on rideshares to get around, you're not going to get very far. To attend all the weekend events and ensure you get back to the airport on time, we recommend having a car available.

Welcome Party

Where should I park?

Free short-term parking is available all along Sail Bay Court. If the street is packed, you're welcome to park in the driveways of the following Sail Bay Court addresses: 50961, 50983, 51032, 51056, and 51077.

What should I wear?

We're aiming for jetsetter chic at this event. Dress to impress, but no need for a suit and tie. Sundresses or rompers, button-downs or polos are all in style. It’s summer in Indiana (aka hot and humid) so nice shorts are totally acceptable if that’s your travel style.

Are children invited?

We'd love to see the little ones at both the Welcome Party and the Goodbye Brunch! You're welcome to bring them to both events.

Will food be available?

Prepare your palate for a global journey! We'll have plenty of food and drinks inspired by stops around the world. Come hungry... We’ve got your in-flight meal covered.

Goodbye Brunch

Where should I park?

Multiple cars can be parked in our own driveway. If the driveway is full, please park in the long black driveway to the left of our home, or across the street in the empty lot.

What should I wear?

Sunday is all about comfort! Wear whatever makes you feel best, and feel free to bring a swimsuit if you'd like to enjoy the lake.

Can I swim?

Of course! We'll have towels available for our out-of-town guests, but if you're local, please bring your own.

When should I arrive?

Stop by whenever you can! Food will be available starting at 10:30, and we're planning to enjoy the entire day with our guests.
