Once upon a time, a guy met a girl. Well, a guy pulled up alongside a girl in a marathon, tried to make some smooth conversation, and quickly realized mid-marathon probably isn’t the right time to ask her if he could take her on a date. He did, however have the perfect chance after the marathon, when her mom (read: wingwoman) asked if we could take a picture of their family – yet somehow, he didn’t seize the moment and they went separate ways.

But, it didn’t take him long to find the race results and do some digging… turns out, she lived in Milwaukee, only a few blocks away! After working up some courage, and without being too creeper’ish, he asked her to get some pancakes with him… she said yes (who doesn’t love pancakes?) and a little dating followed. And then a classic story of the modern world… boy not being ready for girl, girl being patient with boy, then girl hesitant when boy seemed ready, and then finally both boy and girl agreeing they were ready. Ta da!

In a nutshell, that’s us! In reality, our lives have already run parallel with each other long before we realized it… from high school races through college races, we probably crossed paths countless times – always in the same spot, but without ever knowing each other. But God has the right timing for everyone, and we look back at those earlier events and know that our timing was what helped us become who we are for each other – the perfect match.

We can’t wait to celebrate with our family and friends, at a place that we both absolutely fell in love with. Thank you for being part of our love journey; we truly appreciate and love you, and are excited to share our love with you, forever and ever!
