I am a born and raised Iowan. My family lives southwest of Perry where we have a small cow/calf operation. I enjoyed showing Angus cattle growing up, and have stayed involved recently as an advisor for the Iowa Junior Angus Association with my dad. I also played high school and club volleyball, a hobby that I continued to pursue by coaching for a few years during college. Following both of my parents and continuing a Greiman tradition, I attended Iowa State and majored in chemical engineering. I decided to switch things up after undergrad, and am currently finishing my PhD at Iowa State in Immunobiology. I plan to work in livestock vaccine research after graduating next May.
Our story starts when we met in Block and Bridle at Iowa State. We became friends while planning for the 2021 B&B National Convention that Iowa State hosted during our senior year, and started dating later that year in August. Our families both spent a lot of time at the Iowa State Fair showing livestock, and it was a special place for us together while we were dating. So much so, that Jake proposed during the fair on August 12, 2023!
The last two and a half years have been an exciting whirlwind, but we have found some time to enjoy ourselves. One of our favorite memories together was a trip to San Antonio over New Years to see a favorite country artist, Aaron Watson. We have also enjoyed traveling around the Midwest for birthdays and holidays. Some of our favorite activities include attending Iowa State events, dancing at friends’ weddings, and wine tasting at Della Viti in Ames. We look forward to seeing what the next chapter of our lives as a married couple has in store for us!
