Rutland Water Parkrun starts right by the church on Rutland Water at 9am—if you’re there for 8.45am that’s plenty of time to hear the race briefing and speak to the volunteers. It’s a lovely 5km run along the water and back, all on tarmac. People of all shapes, sizes, ages and abilities do Parkrun (running or walking). On our wedding morning, we would love it if you joined us. Normanton ChurchNormanton Park Road, England, LE15 8RP, United Kingdom Attire: Smart summer (dresses / jackets / chinos) We are getting married in Normanton Church, a deconsecrated church facing onto Rutland Water, which we have access to from 1pm to 3pm. Please arrive at 1:30pm for a 2pm start. We encourage folks to eat a big breakfast, brunch, or early lunch before the service. There is ample parking in the main Normanton car park, and then it is a short 5 minute walk down a tarmac path to the Church. You will easily make it in heels! There are a few car spots right by the church - let us know if you need one for any accessibility requirements. There sadly will not be confetti when we leave the church, as this is prohibited by Anglian Water to protect the beautiful environment around the church. We will provide transport for guests who need a lift to the reception (see the Travel tab).

RECEPTION

Haybales FarmHaybales Farm, The Drift, Exton, LE15 8AH* Attire: Summer smart (dresses / jackets / chinos) Our reception is in a tipi on a farm ten minutes away from Normanton church, with a huge field for parking. The reception will start with drinks at 3.30pm, followed by a sit down three course meal from 4.30pm and speeches by the wedding party.

PARTY

18:30–2:00

Haybales FarmHaybales Farm, The Drift, Exton, LE15 8AH Attire: Party frocks (Gogo boots encouraged) Our first dance will be at 7:30pm, we will have an ABBA tribute band from 8pm, and a DJ from 10pm, at which point, we will also serve roast pork baps for hungry revellers. Our speakers must be turned off at midnight due to local noise restrictions, but we have silent disco until 2am and the bride and groom will be there until the very end.

Rutland WaterMeet at Normanton Park Gardens by Celestial View (see above) As our wedding is on the Bank Holiday weekend (UK public holiday on Monday 26th), we hope some folks will stick around to celebrate with us in a more relaxed fashion.&nbsp; If you’d like to join us, we’ll be going for a ~2 hour walk around part of Rutland Water. The walk will be trainer and hangover friendly (!). There is ample parking at the Airbnb, which we’ll return to at the end of the walk.

17:00-21:00

Normanton Park Gardens by Celestial ViewNormanton Park Road, England, LE15 8RP, United Kingdom We’ll host for the final time on Sunday evening, throwing a BBQ and firing up the pizza ovens for anyone sticking around in Rutland. This will be very low key as we expect to be a little sleepy—there will be lawn games, board games and plenty of time spent on sofas. Come in whatever feels comfortable and wind down with us before the end of the weekend.

TRANSPORT

GETTING TO THE UK

Folks flying into the UK will likely be best off flying into any of the London airports, travelling into London itself on the tube or train, and then catching a train back out to Rutland (see train section below). However, Birmingham is not that far from Rutland by car (~1hr 20) should a well-timed or well-priced flight be available.&nbsp;

GETTING THERE BY TRAIN

The nearest train stations to our wedding venues are Oakham and Stamford—both are ~15 minutes drive from Rutland Water—or Peterborough is 30 minutes away. London Trains leave from Kings Cross or St Pancras (which are two different railway stations served by one tube station).

GETTING THERE BY CAR

Driving or carpooling to the wedding is ideal if you can. Our wedding venue is Normanton Church, Normanton Park Rd, Oakham LE15 8RP. There is lots of parking in Normanton's main car park, postcode LE15 8HD. Complementary car park exit tickets will be provided upon arrival at the church. We also have five spaces right by the church for anyone with accessibility needs—please contact us if this would be helpful. Our wedding reception is a 10 minute drive from the Church. It is at Haybales Farm, the Drift, Exton, LE15 8AH. PLEASE use this post code and do not put 'Haybales Farm' into Google Maps or you will end up in Leicester (!). There is a huge field next to our tipi with ample space for all guests to park. If you have any space to offer lifts for any part of the day, we would love to hear from you—kindly let us know in the RSVP and we shall try to do some lift matchmaking.

ON THE DAY

We shall provide transport between our wedding ceremony and the reception. Please kindly confirm in the RSVP if you need a spot.

A NOTE ON TAXIS

There are a number of accommodation options in the surrounding areas of various price ranges. Stamford and Oakham are your best bets. We tried to secure block bookings and discounts at nearby hotels, but as it's a very popular long weekend and hotels are hosting their own weddings. they would sadly not oblige.
