I joined RUF (Reformed University Fellowship) the first month I was at Western. I quickly became a part of an amazing friend group. It was not until my second semester that I met James in front of Hillside Grind (an on-campus coffee shop) talking with my friends. Turned out he was also a part of the friend group but couldn't attend RUF this year due to work. He started showing up everywhere that I was also invited to. One of the things that stood out to me about him is how he was always the first one to ask me about my day was. Summer started and we didn't communicate much until I replied to his snapchat story about Dr. Pepper ice cream and asked him what story he got it from. We started getting to know each other better that summer and started making plans to hang out with each other once we got back to school. I returned to school on August 14, 2023 and he asked me to be his girlfriend on August 24,2023. Every day since then has been an adventure!

During my sophomore year of college, I found myself surrounded by a new group of friends who quickly became some of the most important people in my life. Within that group was Kasey, and from the moment I met her, I knew she was different. It was late in the spring semester, so I tried to be patient and wait until the fall. But as summer came and we started talking more and more, it became clear that something special was already growing between us. When we returned to campus, we finally had the chance to spend real time together, and from that moment on, we’ve never looked back.
