Itinerary 

Getting to the island 

There is no airport on Andros so everyone will have to fly to either Athens or Mykonos and take a ferry, but be sure to look carefully at the ferry timetables so that you arrive on Andros in time for the Welcome Drinks at 8pm on Friday, having checked-in to your accommodation and made your way to Batsi. If you fly to Athens, you need to get to Rafina ferry port. Take a 30-minute airport taxi, Uber or you can take a local bus for €5 (cash only) . <a href="https://w3w.co/harpist.dozed.chums" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Bus stop to ferry port located here</a> You can buy ferry tickets at the port.&nbsp;The ferry from Athens is 2 hours and the ferry from Mykonos is 4 hours.

On the Island 

In order to maximise your enjoyment on the island in between the scheduled events, we suggest renting a car; however, we do not encourage drink driving! Please note, most cars will be manual, although you can book an automatic if you need one. Be sure to bring your drivers licence with you. Lastly, there is no Uber on the island but taxi services are available.

Travel

In order to avoid unnecessary drink driving on the wedding day, we strongly advise staying in either of the following hotels as we are providing shuttles. However, if you decide to rent an Airbnb, you will need to rent a car and make sure you are close to Gavrio (the port town) or Batsi.

Pros: - Beautiful views- Tennis court- Cliff jumping rocks- Walking distance from ferry port- Walking distance from Gavrio town (10 minute walk from the ferry to the hotel). Cons: It might be due a lick of paint and a furniture upgrade!

Andros Holiday Hotel (Άνδρος, Κυκλάδες)

Pros: - Walking distance to Golden Beach (beach bar &amp; music)- Walking distance to Kipri Beach (all water sports)- 10-minute walk to Yannoulis Taverna (excellent local food)- Recently renovated- Has a private section of a beach Cons:- You'll need to get a taxi from the ferry port to the hotel- You can't walk to either of the main towns, so you will need to rent a car or take a taxi

Our thoughts are, if we are asking you all to make a holiday out of this, then we should all look fabulous!

In summary, lots and lots of colour! Welcome drinks: Colourful linen shirts/chinos (no shorts, jackets optional). Wedding: Greek Glam! Linen jackets or suits, and bright long dresses. Guests wearing white will be killed!! Please wear shoes you are comfortable dancing and walking in along dirt roads; shoes that are not affected by dust and sand. Ladies, we advise block heels or wedges.

Attire 

How will I get around the island?

For exploring the island in your free time, we recommend renting a car, moped or organising a taxi. There is a lot to see and most of the best spots are not walkable! On the wedding day, we will provide a shuttle service from the two suggested hotels and we recommend guests take these.

Can I bring my children?

Other than immediate family, only babes in arms will be welcome at any of the events over the weekend.

Can I bring a +1?

We’re keeping things small and intimate so, unfortunately, we can’t accommodate plus ones. Thanks for understanding—we can’t wait to celebrate with you!

Final Tips! 

Batsi has some great boutique shopping! Keep euros with you - You can negotiate with some vendors if you pay cash.

Golden Beach (Chrissi Ammos)

This beautiful beach is a wonderful place to spend a day relaxing. The taverna food is excellent. Zorkos Beach

Batsi Town

A centrally located town that is useful for picking up supermarket supplies, eating breakfast, and renting cars and mopeds. Gavrio (Port Town)

Hiking Trails

Only if you are making a holiday out of your trip to Andros, you might consider visiting Chora, which is the capital of the island. It's a charming town with some surprisingly good boutiqe shops.
