Jamie and Kyle met through Kyle’s cousin Melissa who Jamie met at Stockton College. From the moment they met, Kyle knew there was something special about Jamie. For four years, Kyle tried getting Jamie to go on dates with him, but Jamie thought of Kyle as Melissa’s brother & didn’t want to ruin any friendships or make things weird. All of our friends tried to help Jamie give Kyle a shot, but it didn’t happen. Fast forward to May 9th, 2020 during the pandemic, Jamie hosted a “socially distanced driveway happy hour” that turned into an all day/night hang out. Jamie’s mom Marie was talking to Melissa & Melissa had told her how she had been trying to get Jamie to date Kyle for years. Marie loved Kyle off the bat & was on Jamie all day about how great he was & she should give him a shot. At the end of the night everybody had left, only Jamie and Kyle were left in the backyard. We sat there for awhile just talking, and something there clicked that night. A few days later, we had our first date at Dairy Queen and that was the start of our journey. Timing was everything; in a month Jamie was graduating from nursing school & Kyle was graduating the police academy. Timing couldn’t have lined up any more perfect. A month later on June 30th we made our relationship official. Being friends for years, everything was so natural & we knew each other on a personal, deeper level. Three months later, Kyle moved into Jamie’s parent’s house, and two months later, Jamie’s parents sold that house. Her parents moved to Tom’s River, & we decided to get our own apartment together!

We lived in Lincoln Park for one year (at the same complex as Kyle’s cousin Melissa & her now husband Brandon), and then we moved into an apartment together in Westwood. For anybody who knows, our time in Westwood was short lived as we had terrible neighbors. We moved into our current apartment (two family house) on April 1st 2022.

On April 12th, 2022 we found out Jamie was pregnant & we were so excited and nervous. Easter was in 5 days, and we wanted to tell our families. We were unsure how far along Jamie was (as her cycle was irregular & had missed two months, but had negative tests & blood work). After blood work & ultrasounds we found out she was about 6 weeks along. On April 17th on Easter we told the news to all of our families, who were shocked & over the moon excited. A few weeks later we found out we were having a babygirl, and opted to keep her name a secret. This would be both sides of the families first grandchild as well as great grandchild!

Fast forward to November 27th, our baby girl made a dramatic debut 3 weeks early via C-section. Mia Rose was born & filled our hearts, family & lives with such joy from the moment she entered. Mia has kept us on our toes since the moment she was born, but she is the greatest blessing. Parenting is hard, but it’s the greatest gift we could have asked for.

On April 29th, 2023 Kyle & Jamie went to dinner at River Palm Terrace. Kyle had been planning to propose, and Jamie had no idea! Jamie did not want anything grand, and wanted it to be intimate between the two of them; and Kyle did exactly that. After dinner, Kyle asked our waiter to take a picture of us (which is not unusual, so Jamie didn’t think anything of it). During the photo, Kyle got on one knee & asked Jamie to marry him. Jamie was SO surprised, she said yes! Being typical Kyle, he then started to show Jamie photos he had taken of her with the ring all week & she had no idea! To make it even more special, Kyle brought Mia with him to pick out her ring.

For anybody who knows Kyle, he never gives up on what he wants; his persistence & determination with Jamie paid off. They have built a beautiful life, family & love story, and can’t wait to celebrate their marriage together on October 5th, 2024 with all of you.
