Josh and Jamie met through the dating app Tinder in January of 2019. They talked through the app for a couple of weeks before deciding to meet up for a date. They met for brunch at MiMosa in Farmington on January 20, 2019.
They began dating and seeing each other more regularly as the months went by. In June of 2019, they took Jamie's younger cousins, Jacob and Lucas, to the park while they were watching them for the day. When they dropped Josh off at home, Josh and Jamie gave each other a quick kiss goodbye and Jacob declared they were going to get married. Jamie was mortified at the exclamation, but Josh laughed it off. Little did any of them know it would become a reality!
In March of 2020, the global pandemic came to the United States. This only brought the two closer together. They saw each other every day and eventually realized they should move in together as it just made more sense. In July of 2020 they made a home together with their blended family of animals: Skylar (dog), Smokey (cat) and Zoey (cat).
In November of 2020, they decided to take a long weekend to Traverse City. On November 14, 2020, they went to go see the Grand Traverse Lighthouse so Josh could fly his drone. Unfortunately, when they arrived, they saw signs saying that no drones were allowed. They took a walk along the rocky beach. While looking out at the water, Josh asked Jamie "How much do you love me?" This was a common question they would ask so thinking nothing of it, Jamie replied "A lot." Josh then questioned again "Ok, but how much?" Jamie replied as she laughed while looking at the lighthouse "Enough." Josh then asked her to marry him as he got down on knee on the rocks (ouch!) and presented her with the ring of her literal dreams (an amethyst as the main stone instead of a diamond). While fumbling with getting her gloves off, Jamie forgot to answer and after Josh put the ring on her finger he asked "So is that a yes because you didn't actually answer me." Jamie replied excitedly "Yes!" They stayed at the lighthouse for a bit longer enjoying the moment. They visited the gift shop to buy some items to commemorate the place they got engaged. Afterwards, they started calling their immediate families to give them the news.
All of their family and friends state how happy they make each other. The couple can often be found laughing at each other and with each other.
