Weather permitting, we will be heading to Playland Amusement Park after the reception.

Playland is an amusement park located in Rye, New York. It is a National Historic Landmark located on the Long Island Sound, and was built in 1928. The boardwalk at Playland is famous for a scene in the movie Big with Tom Hanks where Josh (Tom Hanks's character) finds the Zoltar machine and his wishes come true. Mariah Carey's Fantasy music video was also filmed on the boardwalk and riding the famous Dragon Coaster at Playland. There's a Main Stage Variety Show at Playland from 7:00pm to 7:45pm on Saturday evening.

The park hours on Saturday September 21, 2024 are from 11:00am to 9:00pm. Tickets for unlimited rides are $30 per person. There is a summer sale going on until August 30, 2024, if you want to pre-purchase tickets for $19.99 each.

We will head back to the hotel to change before going to Playland, but it is closer to the venue (2.2 miles) if you want to go directly there from the Whitby Castle. If you want to go on rides at the park, be mindful of the no flip flop policy.

The Tiki Beach Pier Restaurant is located on the boardwalk of Playland Amusement Park. The restaurant is located behind the ice skating rink. There is a band playing from 5:00pm to 8:00pm Saturday evening at the Tiki Beach Pier Restaurant called FDR Drive.
