Below is a collection of some of our favorite things to do in and around the city (restaurants start half way down)! We hope that you will spend some time exploring before or after the wedding itself and get a taste of the city we love so much. This list provides some great inspiration for things to do but please feel free to reach out to Jamie & Kane with any additional questions regarding trip planning.
If you plan on getting outside to hike or bike while visiting the PNW please feel free to reach out to Jamie & Kane directly for suggestions! There are endless options and the weather this time of year can be a little trickier to plan around based on where you'd like to go. Use the website above to do some trail finding and preliminary planning.
Indoor Entertainment - A classic tourist activity, with great views of the city from above. Ride the elevator cars to the top and have a cocktail or simply take some pictures. Definitely a piece of iconic Seattle history.
Indoor activity - Local NHL team. Home games on 11/8, 11/12, 11/14. One of Jamie and Kane's favorite fall/winter activities! Climate Pledge Arena is a great time filled with tons of great local food and drinks!
Indoor Entertainment - Great views of the city from the highest skyscraper in the city, small bar on the same level as well. An intimate spot for drinks with a view.
Indoor and Outdoor Entertainment - Take a stroll through this iconic Seattle landmark. Grab some coffee, have clam chowder and browse local artisans booth as you walk. Site of the Original Starbucks as well as some gorgeous flowers.
Indoor Entertainment - Explore the Museum of Glass on a rainy, gloomy day to brighten things up. A tourist favorite in the Seattle Center.
Outdoor Entertainment - Small park in the city, with great views of downtown, Mt. Rainier and the Sound on a clear day. Perched atop downtown this small, roadside viewpoint offers a great photo op.
Outdoor and Indoor Entertainment - A cool walking tour that teaches about Seattle history, and shows how Seattle was actually built ‘up’ one level on top of the previously burned city.
Food & Indoor Entertainment - One of 6 Starbucks Reserves in the world, has all kinds of interesting coffee, classes/tours, an on-site roastery.
Outdoor Entertainment - Park on the northern shore of Lake Union with great views of downtown. This was the closest city park to Jamie's first house in Seattle and still holds a special place in her heart. For all you "10 Things I Hate About You" fans, this is the filming location for the paintball scene!
Outdoor Entertainment - Beautiful beachfront park, nature, and views of the sound. Jamie's favorite view in the city looking out towards the Olympics.
Outdoor Entertainment - Functioning locks between Puget Sound and Lake Union - busiest locks in the nation! Fun to watch in action, some areas for sitting and a salmon ladder to check out.
Outdoor or Indoor Entertainment - A chill neighborhood across the Sound from downtown. Alki beach is a sandy beach with sitting and city views, and some good informal restaurants. Boasts a great view of the city skyline at night!
Outdoor or Indoor Entertainment - An island within a 30 minute ferry ride from downtown Seattle. There are beaches, parks, and a small downtown with shops and restaurants within walking distance of the ferry terminal. Having a car helps you explore more, but definitely not necessary!

The quintessential Seattle comfort food: “Traditional Seattle teriyaki is grilled meat (chicken thigh is most popular), sweet and salty teriyaki sauce, 1-2 ice cream scoops of mediocre white rice, and a “salad” that’s basically iceberg lettuce with honey mustard or coleslaw dressing. Almost always served in a styrofoam box with one big compartment and two small ones.”
–we recommend either regular chicken, or spicy chicken and there are many, many different places in Seattle that are all good so don't feel stuck with this specific one.
Very casual thai food place Kane loved in college. Thai food is quite common in Seattle as takeout, most places are fairly similar
Casual Pho place, Pho is a common hangover meal or cold weather food in Seattle, most pho places are fairly similar
