One of our absolute favorite National Parks!!
RMNP utilizes permit system for entry, so if you're planning to go into the park, make sure you get a permit. Most of the park will be inaccessible, as the main road closes in winter, but Bear Lake should be open. If you plan to go to Bear Lake, you may want to bring hiking spikes, as the trail can get icy. The Lily Lake trail is also a great trail for the winter.
If there's snow, Happy Valley is a good spot to go sledding! There's also snowshoeing if there is snow on the ground.
The roads will be plowed, but if you're worried about driving, there are also tours you can do! We haven't done a tour, but we see these jeeps on the road: https://www.greenjeeptour.com/https/appbookingcentralcom/book/product/greenjeeptourslocation02f11a1c-dea3-4146-a6e2-a6fe403553ffproductf8cf9910-ac55-4df8-be58-30a34e5fd0c2refererclearcart
Steven King credits The Stanley as the inspiration for The Shining. The Stanley has a whiskey bar, a maze, and a tour, if you'd like to check it out!
We love this restaurant!! It's on the main street, so a great option if you're exploring. Be careful though on the spice level, it is legit hot, and not just white people hot!
We haven't done this, but we very much want too!!! It sounds very fun!
