Craig proposed to me tonight, New Year's Eve 2022. I did not know tonight was the night, but was longly anticipated since our trip to Florida in August. As we got up all dressed up in our finest clothes, tuxedo and mint green ball gown to take pictures in front of the Happy New Year sign at Syndie Mae restaurant; I had no idea he would get down on one knew to ask me "Janet, will you be my adventure buddy for life. " shocked by the proposal, and overwhelmed with Joy, I quickly turned around, covered my eyes, and began to cry. I was over Joyed. After a few seconds of Joy I turned around, shuck my head and said Yes. The crowd in the restaurant shouted with Cheers of joy. Crying even more than before, he put the ring on my left hand, after almost putting it on my right. Touched his right face on the beard, and kissed him over and over.
Cynthia who was recording it on Craig's phone gave the phone back.
I retreat to the bathroom to collect myself and fix my makeup. Which Kim Nuzum did so well. I came back to the table, filled with joy. Gazing in my fiancé, beautiful blue eyes. Receiving many congratulations from the restaurant patrons and workers.
A surprised unknown guest, remaining nameless picked up our bill along with using Kim's gift card that she gave us.
We toasted to champagne last night to our engagement. After already having their Dragonfly still on the table.
Forgetting it was New Year's Eve, simply wanting time with Craig. Not constantly being on my phone answering phone calls and text messages. I wait until today Sunday, January 1 2023 to announce our engagement.
We enjoy each other's company, and our many "I love you" and answering if I had known. Which I did not but I thought Maybe tonight would be the night. From the many prayers, comments, and affirmations that by the end of the year Craig would propose. Being that it was a special night, all dressed up and extensive makeup from Kim. It would become the best night of my life. For God had given me my long awaited beloved future husband.
We stay for awhile enjoying my Duck, sweet potatoes, and asparagus; and him the wagyu steak, mash potatoes, and green beans, Toasting to champagne.
Kim would eventually arrive with JR, her son Ryan who was visiting for Holiday. And Aly Ryan's girl friend. She of course had known this was the night that he would ask.
After an enjoyable dinner, we return home to tell the Girls, Avery and Savannah. Who at least for Avery not know specifically but due to dressing up thought tonight was the night he would ask. Showing the the simple elegant 1/2 karat princess cut diamond on white gold band, all the girls got excited. Walking over to Chuck Nuzum, Craig's dad to show him and ask if he knew and he did.
While also knowing from the text messages that Craig sent to his Dad, sister, and brother while at the restaurant.
